Re: my account name changed

that’s the thing my name on xbox is my normal name for some reason my name has been changed to one of my friends names with (“) and : which to my knowledge aren’t available for apex names.

To be clear, you're saying this just happens in-game on your Xbox? Which name is being changed, and what platform are you on?

While quotation marks aren't typically available, there are some situations people can use normally unavailable characters in their names. Those are being looked into, but wouldn't cause the name itself to be changed, especially to one of your friend's names.

You'll want to look at who has access to whichever account name is being changed - if this is while you're on Xbox, it would be pulling that from your Xbox gamertag, which isn't set through your EA Account details.

If you're playing on Steam, you'd need to check the Steam username, if through the EA app then your EA ID here (though this would also change your forum name), etc.

it changed yesterday on my xbox but my xbox name has remained the same name. The only accounts that are on my xbox are my own just separate accounts.
