Shooting sound vs Footsteps

I have a disgusting issue.

I never can hear enemy footsteps with the sound settings I have.

Option 1:

I can make my sounds 100/100 everywhere - Sound mixer/Game master Volume/Sound Effects Volume, and hear the enemy actions like footsteps, shooting sounds, etc.

But with this option shooting sounds are so loud that I suppose I'll be deaf.

Option 2:

I can make my sound settings safe for my ears, but I can't hear enemies instead.

My configuration:

Headset: HyperX Cloud Stinger 2

External USB Sound card - Sounblaster Play 4!

Windows 11

I'll be grateful for any tips for fixing this.

    Yes, I did it.

    The issue is the same.

    Shooting sounds are too loud.

I've attached some screenshots with my settings.

In addition, it's a bit confusing because I have surround sound options in Sonar/Sound Card(screenshot added)/Installed DTS.

I tried settings with turned-on surround sound in Sonar without any other sources of it.

BTW my sound headset sound wheel is turned to max - If I tune it on at approximately less than 80% - footsteps are muffled but shooting sounds are fine.

@Nonexlstence it's a tricky issue. I'm on xbox and the dtx setting really helped. Unfortunatly the new Soundbar dosnt support dts, so I'm back to almost no footsteps again.

Imo 3d footstep visualisation like fortnite would really help.

Edit,: allowing pass through on the TV has improved the footsteps again.

  • I had try everything.

All kind of settings and EQ. I made a fresh windows installation.

I tried 3 different headsets, and shooting sounds still so loud.

At the same time anyone for me moves like f**** ninja and always shoot at my back most part of the damage.

This circumstances make the game unplayable, disgusting and no fun, even more - nervous.

It's so annoying when you * up because it's not your fault, it's just game and respawn decide to smash you and force you to be furious.

Other players easily can hear me from so far away and predict my movement and kill me from behind, side, top, bottom - any place I can't see with my view angle.

It's make the game disgusting, you never start a fight first, it feels without sounds like a game vs players with a wall hack.

    Ranked - joke

    Pub - joke

    Arenas - deleted

Should I enjoy how other players * me because the game have * sound?

    NO
