Update – New Findings
I performed deeper testing and I can confirm the issue is not related to the game files, DNS settings, cache, firewall, or my PC. The problem appears to be a routing failure between my ISP (Telecable Costa Rica) and the backbone network used by EA/Respawn.
New findings:
Apex opens all required TCP and UDP ports correctly. The client sends traffic out, but nothing returns from EA servers.
The game never reaches any EA or Apex datacenter IP ranges.
Ping to EA servers results in 100% packet loss.
Traceroute stops working as soon as the traffic leaves my ISP’s network. The last responding hop belongs to GTT, which is one of the carriers used by EA.
Conclusion:
This is a routing issue between Telecable, GTT, and the EA servers. It cannot be fixed by reinstalling, verifying game files, changing DNS, clearing cache, or adjusting game settings.
Other players in Costa Rica seem to be experiencing the same issue.
If possible, it would be helpful if EA could escalate this to their networking team to review the routing path from Costa Rica to the EA datacenters.
