So tonight's story starts with me settling down on the couch to play Apex on my xbox with youngtreelett on the switch next to me. Fun times ahead as she is getting to like arenas and adores valkyrie.Game starts and we're off, we'll no I'm off and ytl is dc'ed. She tries to rejoin, but no, then tries to start another game, but no. Dc and timeout penalty of 8 min. She was seriously fuming. How this can happen, as we are both on the same WiFi? I guess the server issues are far from sorted out. We went off and played a few games of Fortnite with no issues.

Dam OTC, sorry to hear that. Today my son and I tried to play some Arenas also, we are both on the same internet as well, we got a "connectivity issue" pop up and both got kicked. Also, we were on a time out. Was very frustrating. So we played some Ghost of Tsushima Legends and we had much more fun than we have had lately playing Apex. : )

@OldTreeCreeper I'm sure someone will have an explanation but penalties for connection issues need to stop. It's ridiculous! Especially if it's their servers!

In my area, the St. Louis servers have the lowest ping, but often times have tons of problems. I find changing to the Iowa servers, much more consistent game play and fewer (if any) disconnects. @EA_Darko You're not wrong, but you could be. I also have good internet, mine isn't Gb, but 400Mb. I have a great mesh wifi along with a separate FW. I've got multiple people streaming, playing games, etc. all the time and rarely experience lag caused by congestion/bandwidth consumption. I've also had a ton of problems with Apex DCs. I've followed your guide. It's rarely helped. The most helpful thing for me is switching servers. Also, like @OldTreeCreeper, most of the time I have a problem with Apex DCs, I can play ANY OTHER GAME and it works flawlessly. I play Apex, Fortnite and Desitny 2 with my kids and we have never had an issue with Fortnite or D2. Also, I've had a plenty of games where I'm on with squad and complain about lag and someone else in the squad says "me to". Apex has serious network issues. Someone should be looking at those vs just telling users to follow a KB that given the OP's experience with having no issues with other games, is unlikely to help at all.

Hey all, if your network is not set up correctly then you can run into all kinds of issues when two people are trying to play together or in the same game on the same network. Can you check your Nat type is set to open. I would also suggest ensuring that you are all on the same internet protocol. For example, if you are on IPv4 and the other is on IPv6 then you can have issues. If it's still not fixed and the issues continue to pop up then can you try the following: Log into your modem / router Turn OFF UPNP.Turn off PC UPnP Service:Press: Windows-button a window should pop up. Write: “services.msc” (without the “) then press enter In the list of services, scroll down to “UPnP Device Host”, click it and press “Stop service”. Now do the same thing but with the service “SSDP Discovery”.Exit the window and go to control panel-> Network and Internet-> Network and Sharing Centre-> Change advanced sharing settings (to the left)-> Under “network discovery” select to turn off network discovery Save your changes Still not working after this? Can you go ahead and on your console manually set your DNS so that it uses the Google DNS settings. You need to set them to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Let me know how you get on. Darko

@EA_Darko there's been no problems recently while playing and its not the first time ytl and I have played apex togeather on the same WiFi.
In fact yt, ytl and I have played both apex and fortnite all on the same WiFi with no issues, that would be an xbox, a switch and a pc all on the same WiFi.
Nothing wrong with my WiFi or its setup,. It's a repeat of the server issue.

I'm checking the server status for the time before, around, and after you posted and not seeing any issues.

Just because it has worked in the past does not mean that it is not a network or ISP-based issue.

Your router updating can result in changes being made to it or settings being changed.

I'm only trying to help you get to the bottom of the issue you are seeing.

If there are server issues on any server we will be able to see them @OldTreeCreeper.

There is nothing on any server from those times that would be cause for connection issues or not being able to connect.

@EA_Darko equally as apex has had server issues in the past, it does not mean the server issues have dissappeared, and you can go back to blaming my WiFi or isp.
As I said fortnite didn't have any issues.

I'm not sure what Fortnite has to do with it @OldTreeCreeper. Every game is different, just because one game works does not mean that all others well or that the issue is not a result of the home network or ISP.

If you are not interested in help to troubleshoot the issue then you can ignore my posts above and the help I'm offering. I'm simply trying to help you and others seeing this issue rule out things like the home network.
