If this isn't even getting you fully logged in it may help to try these connection troubleshooting steps. 

The steps to flush and/or change your DNS may be particularly useful here, and these steps may be worth a further look if needed afterwards.

Is there any change if you give those a try?

I've managed to log in since posting this but after relaunching the game it's still not loading consistently.
It took me 25 tries to log in.

No errors at all, just a loading screen.
Also no the login was before I saw your post, but just incase, I'll try them to see if that is the issue.

Just gave the connection fixes a try and still no result

Update on this: just reinstalled the game and I've had no luck. Gonna try clearing the save data next.

None of the suggested methods will help. You can play Apex only if you create a new account in origin and download the game via origin. But you won't be able to play with your friends. And you will have a chance to get the emblems of 4k damage and 20 kills with low skill players 🙂 Another methods doesn't work, this is typical Apex developers

Just bumping this back up again, I really need help here, I'm 2 weeks behind on the battle pass now.

Gonna mark this as the solution for now until the Steam version starts working again.

Unfortunately the only solution I have found is reinstalling Apex Legends on Origin. I tried locating the game on Origin with my Steam installation but that didn't work.

So this just seems to be an issue affecting Steam.
