Can't Enable Secure Boot Because Of Old GPU (or CPU) / Can't Disable CSM Support

The last battlefield 2042 update 8.8.0 requires SecureBoot but in my case i cant activate it because i have RX580
Most older GPUs need CSM support and in the bios i need to disable CSM to access SecureBoot settings
The SecureBoot settings disappear if i enable CSM.

I tired forcing CSM disabled and then went and to change SecureBoot on the results was black screen the RX580 didn't  load anything.

On the other side if i disable CSM and turn on the pc, CSM enables its self so it can detect the RX580.

( i get black screen when SecureBoot is on so it doesn't let CSM ON and i get stuck with black screen - resting bios was the only solution )

Battlefield should consider people with old GPUs or people who dont know any bios settings.

Some people fried their computers because they were to unfamiliar with bios settings.

Yeah that works only if integrated graphics card is enabled from bios.. You were lucky one to have it enable. Me for example don't have it enabled because having 2 GPU's is usually more trouble then fun

EA has just required "Secure Boot" to play BF2042. They obviously do not care if they lose their client base. I do not need to run "Secure boot", I do not trust Microsoft enough to use "Secure boot" and I certainly am not supporting the TPM chip. EA has done nothing to stop cheaters and this wont stop cheaters either. There should have been a warning or some kind of option to NOT have to mess with the bios to play a cheater ridden game. For those that say there are no cheaters, you obviously didn't play bf1 with the floating gun head shotting the entire team. I was playing this for a few hours just days ago and now I am completely locked out unless I bow to the control grabbing morons who decided this was a good idea. Looks like I'm buying call of Duty now.

How to Enable Secure Boot with an AMD RX 580 GPU That Requires CSM

If you have an AMD RX 580 GPU and want to enable Secure Boot (which usually requires UEFI mode and disabling CSM), you might run into problems like a black screen or BIOS access issues. Here’s how to fix it:

    1. Check if Your RX 580 Supports UEFI GOP

       - Some RX 580 cards, especially those with modified BIOS (like mining cards), may not support UEFI GOP (Graphics Output Protocol), which is needed for Secure Boot.

       - Use GPU-Z to check if "UEFI" is listed under the Advanced tab. If it’s missing, your card might not work with UEFI boot.

    2. Update the GPU VBIOS

       - If your card doesn’t support GOP, you might need to flash a new VBIOS:

         - Backup your current VBIOS using GPU-Z.

         - Find a compatible UEFI-enabled VBIOS from TechPowerUp’s database (make sure it matches your exact GPU model).

         - Flash it using AMDVBFlash (for AMD cards).

    3. Try a Different Display Port

       - Some RX 580 models only show UEFI BIOS on specific ports (like the bottom HDMI or DisplayPort). Try switching ports after disabling CSM.

    4. Use Integrated Graphics or Another GPU Temporarily

       - If your CPU has integrated graphics (like a Ryzen APU), use it to enter BIOS, disable CSM, and enable Secure Boot. Then reconnect the RX 580.

       - Alternatively, use a newer GPU (2019 or later) to set up Secure Boot, then switch back to the RX 580.

    5. Downgrade Motherboard BIOS (If Possible)

       - Some newer BIOS versions force Secure Boot. If your motherboard allows it, downgrade to an older version that doesn’t enforce this.

    6. Try Enabling Secure Boot Without Disabling CSM

       - Some older motherboards (like certain ASRock models) let you enable Secure Boot while keeping CSM on. Check your BIOS settings.

    Final Notes:

    - Flashing the VBIOS can be risky—if unsure, consider replacing the GPU with a newer model that fully supports UEFI and Secure Boot.

    - Some monitors may not display the UEFI BIOS properly—try a different display if you have issues.
