Finally something useful from your mouth.. That's the spirit. As I mentioned before it is not rocket science. People just like to moan and are too lazy to move a muscle itself. So yes. I agree with you that most here are not able to do it with 10 min
wow, you really are an arrogant pos. There's literally thousands of players spread across multiple language platforms with the same problem. That problem is EA and their incredibly stupid fix. You, try to justify this arrogant and abysmal dogs dinner of a patch by taking the micky out of folk who don't feel confident in taking on a correction in the BIOS. "People just like to moan and are too lazy to move a muscle" Ooh classy. Maybe you should apply for a Job at EA, your obviously on the same wavelength.

How to Enable Secure Boot on Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58:
Detailed GuideSecure Boot is an important security feature that helps prevent unauthorized operating systems and
malware from loading during the startup process. Enabling it on your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 requires
careful steps in the BIOS settings. Here's a comprehensive guide:Prerequisites
- Ensure your laptop is plugged into power (not running on battery)
- Have a USB flash drive ready to backup important data (recommended)
Note that some older operating systems may not support Secure Boot
Step-by-Step Instructions
Access BIOS Setup(source)
- Completely shut down your laptop by holding the power button for 10 seconds
- Power on the system and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly until the BIOS menu appears
Set Supervisor Password (Required)(source)
- In BIOS, use the right arrow key to select the Security tab
- Highlight Set Supervisor Password and press Enter
- Create a password (8-20 characters, alphanumeric) and confirm it
Important: Write this password down and store it securely
Warning: Losing this password could potentially brick your device if a BIOS update fails
Enable Secure Boot(source)
- Navigate to the Boot tab using the right arrow key
- Select Secure Boot and press Enter
- Change the setting from Disabled to Enabled
- If available, set Secure Boot Mode to Standard (not Custom)
Save Changes and Exit(source)
- Press F10 to save changes
- Select Yes to confirm and exit BIOS
- Your system will reboot with Secure Boot enabled
(Optional) Remove Supervisor Password
If you don't want to keep the supervisor password:
- Re-enter BIOS (F2 at startup)
- Go to Security > Set Supervisor Password
- Enter current password then leave new password fields blank
- Confirm removal (source)
Troubleshooting
if Secure Boot doesn't stay enabled:
- Reset BIOS to defaults by pressing F9 while in BIOS (source)
- Save changes and reboot to Windows to check Secure Boot status
- Repeat the enabling process if needed
Additional Notes
- Some Acer Nitro models have reported "flaky" Secure Boot behaviour that may require a BIOS update to
fix (source) - If you plan to dual-boot with Linux, research Secure Boot compatibility with your distribution
For AN515-58 specifically, ensure you're running the latest BIOS version for best compatibility
Verification
To confirm Secure Boot is active:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
- Type:
bcdedit /enum {current}
- Look for "device" and "path" entries - they should reference "efi" paths if Secure Boot is working
Remember that enabling Secure Boot may affect your ability to boot from some external media or install
certain operating systems. If you encounter issues, you can always temporarily disable Secure Boot in BIO
when needed.
