Unable to Launch Game (Steam/EA Desktop App)

Hi Support Team,

I've been trying to play BF2042 these past two days, but am not able to get pass the splashscreen. It'd would sometime show the loading bar progressing and not at all at times, but the result is always the splashscreen disappears and then returns to the EA desktop App. I have both a Steam copy and an EA desktop App copy. Both returns same results.

I have follow many fixes from this thread:
BF2042 will not launch via EA Play/Xbox Game Pass on Windows 11 | EA Forums - 6968020

I have attached a DxDiag report.

  • A new install of windows on a fresh new drive fixed the issue. IDK what's the issue before, It had work on that install of windows before.. Just stopped playing for a mouth and this **bleep**.. RIP

Many Thanks for the help 🖖

Ran on my ADMIN account; crashes immediately and create a .dmp file.

    Many Thanks

Is secure boot enabled in the PC BIOS? Usually EA Anticheat issues involve an unsigned driver running in Windows. Secure Boot prevents unsigned drivers from running.

If you have another hard drive available it would probably be faster and easier to try a fresh install of Windows on another hard drive.

You can also continue diagnosing the issue with Windows Debugger to read the dump files.

I haven't used Windows Debugger so can't offer much help on the subject of analyzing dump files.

Yes, Secure boot is on. A fresh installation of windows 11 was one of the troubleshooting steps I have done. Also have tried default values in BIOS. Same results.

This is what was read in the dmp file created when I tried another administrator account.

I'm waiting for another NVMe drive to be delivered and will install another fresh installed of windows 11 pro(via USB flash drive, clean and reformat drive) and see if that fixes the issue.

It definitely appears to be an EA Anticheat issue.

I think you can analyze the file further by typing !analyze -v and then press Enter. Type it next to 0:000>

The screenshots are blurry. Clicking the paper clip attach button posts clear screenshots on the forum.

Although I just discovered if I click on the post time under your name a new webpage opens which then allows me to click on the screenshot and view it without being blurry. A little forum trick for anyone reading this.

Another forum trick is clicking the post time under someone's username allows you to see which post a person is replying to.

Turn off all super res, frame generation features smooth motion and latency features on nvidia graphic settings, disable nvidia app from optimizing game settings. Have you tried that?
