A Tale of Missing Rewards and Blindingly Fast "Fixes"

Let's have a talk. A real one. About the state of our game, the promises that were made, and the baffling priorities of the people steering the ship.

It’s been several days now. A growing chorus of players, myself included, opened our wallets in good faith, expecting to receive what was explicitly advertised. We bought the Standard Edition Battle Pass, which promises 6 instant rewards. Then, many of us upgraded to the Premium Battle Pass, which promises an additional 6 instant rewards. Simple, right?

Wrong.

A significant portion of the player base has received nothing. Zip. Nada. The rewards we paid for have simply vanished into the digital ether. The same goes for the First Season Starter Pack that was supposed to include 500 BFC and the First Season Pro Pack with its 1100 BFC. People spent real money, and the "instant" part of the reward has been anything but. Days have passed, and from EA and DICE? Radio silence. No official acknowledgment, no fix, and certainly no talk of compensation for the paid content we're missing.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg, isn't it? Let's take a scenic tour through the current bug-ridden landscape of the game:

· The Majestic Mule: The MAV, a crucial support vehicle, has become a literal sky-lift. Deploy it on an incline, and watch as it gracefully, hilariously, and game-breakingly ascends to the heavens, completely unusable.
· The Phantom Missile: Step into a light armor vehicle and try to use your guided missile. Go on. For many, it simply doesn't work, leaving you a sitting duck and robbing a vehicle of its core anti-armor function.
· A Flash of Brilliance (Literally): The lighting and shadow systems are in a constant state of seizure, with flashes of blinding light and bizarre shadow pop-in making indoor combat a literal gamble on your eyesight.

And then, we have Portal. Oh, Portal. The mode that was supposed to be a love letter to the community, a sandbox of limitless creativity. What has become of it?

First, we had the "XP incident." Players were having fun, grinding in creative modes, and earning experience at a rate DICE apparently didn't approve of. The fix for this? Immediate. It was patched at a speed that would make The Flash jealous. Servers were swiftly neutered, and XP gains were slashed to a trickle.

But the community is resourceful. We adapted. We started using AI bot fills in our Portal servers to keep the action going and make the modes feel alive. It was a workaround, a way to salvage the creative potential of the mode. And what was DICE's response? They didn't just fix it; they took a sledgehammer to it. They removed the ability to fill servers with AI in Portal modes entirely.

Let that sink in. Instead of addressing the underlying progression systems that push players towards mindless grinding, they chose to dismantle a core feature that was allowing the community to enjoy their creations. The very feature that was touted as a key component of Portal's "limitless" potential has been unceremoniously ripped out. The mode we have now is a pale, anemic shadow of what was sold to us in the glossy trailers and ambitious developer diaries.

So, I have to ask the question on everyone's mind, the one that fuels our collective frustration: What are you actually doing over there, DICE?

When it comes to bugs that ruin the core gameplay experience, or rewards that players have paid for not being delivered, the response is a deafening silence. The pace of fixes is glacial. But the moment players find a way to earn experience in a way you didn't meticulously control? Lightspeed. The moment the community uses the tools you provided to create a sustainable play environment? Sledgehammer.

It creates a very clear, and very disheartening, picture of your priorities. It seems that "fun" and "player value" are secondary to a rigid, and frankly broken, control over progression and monetization.

We paid for a game and a live service. We paid for a Battle Pass and bundles. We were promised a revolutionary Portal experience. Right now, we are being short-changed on all fronts. We're not asking for miracles. We're asking for the things we purchased. We're asking for a stable game. We're asking for the creative mode you promised.

It's time to break the silence. It's time to communicate, to acknowledge these critical issues, and to show us that you're working on fixing the things that actually matter to the people playing your game. Because right now, from where we're standing, it looks like you're on a permanent vacation from caring about your community.

  • OK, the battlepass stuff, you are right.

But you are complaining that dice won't let you boost?

  • I agree with you that the pace at which they are dealing with gamebreaking bugs is glacial.

  • still only received day 2 of the daily rewards despite being on the game every day since launch.

have this weird thing on the firing range when standing still horizontal lines are all over the screen but when i move its gone. its also not in a game itself.

the playerbase is getting divided bc of hate currently from aimcommunity and certain big (cod) streamers towards casuals. your casual breakthrough is going to be abused for clipfarming by said groups just for fun.

they said a big patch is coming and would fix bloom and hitreg and now it wasnt bc they fixed any other thing EXCEPT the glaring issues at hand. every game i die BEHIND cover bc of desync. im on fast fiber optic with 5 ms ping and STILL it happens(yes i play on my own eu servers). bloom is outright horrible and hitreg is getting worse by the day. this game is rapidly becoming unplayable and its raining complaints and what does ea do?  fix it? no... but they put in a way to reroll challenges..... seriously????

the droneglitch. manhattan map among others is barely playable. the fastest way to fix it temporarily is deactivating the hammer. its so easy!  people have a the knife still. they'll live.

deploy beacon..put it back where it belongs..on recon. assault hardly uses it. in all the games ive seen a handfull of beacons being used OR the new thing is they create a squad solo and lock it and use the deploy to go camp somewhere where they shouldnt be able to go.

i was excited for this game but at this point im debating abandoning it. you are more catering to the codpeople then others. maps are too small. jets have no room and you are out of bounds so quick and lets not talk about the ifv bug(which is also easily fixable by disabling the missile they use or system to one shot aircraft.

do you want this game to die? or so a 2042 all over again. you started to good but your swerving off the path dangerously. get it together and fix it glaring issues first. please!
