Add audio language options to the Battlefield 6 menu settings

We strongly request that after the release of Battlefield 6, unlike Battlefield 2042 where the voice-over is forced to be tied to the system language on Xbox, the game should add voice-over customization options. This way, everyone can choose according to their preferences—different strokes for different folks.

While there isn’t an official way yet to have separate text and voice languages in Battlefield 6, you can modify the audio packs on PC to achieve that.

I wanted to have German text and subtitles with the English voiceover, so I did the following (credits go to StrangerLynx, who found an old Steam guide for Battlefield 4):

    1. Switch the language via the EA App or Steam properties to the language you want for the voiceover (in my case, English).
    2. After the automatic download is complete, copy the desired sound files.
      • I created a new folder on my desktop and, inside it, two subfolders: MP (for Multiplayer) and SP (for Singleplayer).
      • Copy the voen.toc file from Battlefield 6\Data\Win32\loc into your MP folder.
      • Copy the voen.toc file from Battlefield 6\Data\Win32\SP\loc into your SP folder.
    3. Rename the copied files to match your desired text language — in my case, German: voen.toc → vode.toc.
    4. Switch the language back via the EA App or Steam properties to your normal text language (in my case, German).
    5. After the download is complete, copy your renamed files back into the original folders:
      • The file from the MP folder goes to Battlefield 6\Data\Win32\loc.
      • The file from the SP folder goes to Battlefield 6\Data\Win32\SP\loc.

Now your game should have your normal text language and a separate voice language in both singleplayer and multiplayer.

List of Languages and the abbreviation

    ko for Korean

    fr for French

    it for Italian

    ja for Japanese

    en for English

    de for German

    pl for Polish

    es for Spanish

br, cn and mx exist too, but I’m not completely sure which languages they stand for exactly.

I also want to join to this feature request, it's incredible how a basic feature as select the language you want to hear and read are not separated in a menu options ingame or as in the case of this game, it straight do not exist. Sorry for my bad english, not my first language but i prefer to play the game with the original voice over and with the UI in my native language.

I'm amazed that in 2025 we can't switch voice language in game options with different subtitles language. Can we reach them somehow on this topic?

  • I agree and support this idea. Modern FPS nowadays (including games like XDefiant) had option to switch client languages and voice lines directly in-game. Would be useful for peoples preferring to hear voice line in their own languages while keeping the client language in English.
