AI Patrol boats in Portal

What is the trick to get the AI to pilot the patrol boats on Tsuru Reef? Would you please ask the Devs to make it easier for the Portal community to get the AI to use the boats and vehicles. Right now it is very difficult and some luck to get them to do it consistently. They do not use the Patrol boats at all unless I am the pilot. They jump out as soon as I get out.

Please ask the Devs to add Map topography terrain overlay so that we can place objects into the Godot editor without guessing. 

On a positive note, Tsuru Reef map is so good. Best map since Far Cry 1. The water interaction is cooking good. I haven't played Wake Island, waiting for the release to Portal.
