  • Just for clarification: do you want this only be the case a) DURING the revive process or generally, b) while they wait for a possible revive?

In the case of a) I might be interested in trying it out. This way, the person being revived could try to protect the person reviving, while they are super vulnerable. It's a very specific scenario and might be balanced enough, as not everyone can be revived at any moment, but if you do, a surprise enemy could in theory be fended off.

If you want b) - everyone in the downed-but-not-out state is able to use their pistol - I would hate that actually. When I was able to kill them, I deserve them to be unable to still shoot. And I certainly would not want someone else, who I might not even notice lying somewhere, be able to hit me with a stray bullet. There is way too much chaos in a normal round of Battlefield for that.

I know, this is/was a BR mechanic and it is much more fitting there, I believe. But I did not play a lot of BR in my lifetime anyway.

I only want it to be for when the person is actually being revived, even if it is only for a certain class if that would make the most sense, but having it be an option to protect your squad mate that is trying to save you. I think it would be a small change that a lot of people could enjoy.

I don't think this would work for balance, unless you can shoot a downed player and put them out permanently.

  • So long as we're tracking what body parts are being hit, I think it would be cool if you could crawl away from the fray if the shots that downed you were only in the legs.

But on your point, I think we should be able to pull out our sidearm AS we're being dragged away to be revived with limited ability to rotate the camera. (like 180° or even less)  If it were going to be implemented, that's the best way I can see it being somewhat fair.

In my eyes I think anyone that is holding a weapon and can shoot should be able to be shot as well. I also thought about the limited range for the camera rotation so I do like that idea

I would want any player that can shoot a weapon to be able to be shot but only if they actively have the weapon out and being dragged.

Nah that would be too difficult to bounce back and forth being invincible and not based on when a person is dragging someone they can let go as well. I think the only way to make it possibly fair is if they get shot one extra time (or take explosive damage, are run over, etc) it finishes them off completely and are not able to be revived.

I'd be fine with it, as long as the person that's being revived, is now vulnerable even before the revive is complete. If you get shot during this time, you can no longer respawn, just like how it is when you get killed twice in rapid succession.

  • Simply put, I believe that when you are hit and bleeding out, which I think is the appropriate analysis of a downed soldier, you should be so incapacitated that you would be unable to function, raise a weapon, do anything except lie there and writhe in pain.

So, no, I can't jump on this bandwagon and say how great it would be if you could be downed and still shooting.

    Nah. Bad idea.
