Battlefield 6: We Expect Better Than This!
Ever since the beta we have been giving clear feedback and almost nothing meaningful has changed. The game still feels nearly identical, with a bit of polish here and there, but the fundamental issues remain.
Weapon balance is a mess. Some guns feel pointless, especially SMGs that barely have any role in the current meta. Gunplay feels unfair and unpredictable overall.
Visibility is a disaster. You often only realize who killed you after you are already dead, even if they were standing five meters away. Shooters live or die on situational awareness, yet Battlefield 6 buries enemies under smoke, dust, bloom, fire and excessive visual effects. Playing with beautiful visuals becomes a disadvantage because you simply cannot see anything. It feels like we are forced into retro 16-bit visibility just to spot enemies.
Sound design is not helping either. Footsteps are very hard to localize, directionality is off and you cannot rely on audio to track threats. Cheaters are already back too, which quickly destroys trust in competitive play.
Crossplay feels unfair for PC players. We have to deal with strong aim assist from console players. Console users can disable it, although there is no real reason for them to do so. This creates a skill imbalance that should not exist in a modern FPS.
Seeing Battlefield now push battle passes feels like a disappointing step toward the exact things people did not want. After BF2042 we hoped lessons were learned. Yes, there are small improvements, although nothing spectacular or game-changing. Hit detection and registration feel inconsistent. Sometimes bullets have zero effect, sometimes you get one-shot instantly. The identity of the game feels lost. Is this supposed to be a tactical simulator like Arma, or an arcade shooter?
There is simply too much wrong at the moment. It feels like money comes first and quality second. Loyal fans deserve better. I genuinely regret buying the game in its current state.
Battlefield used to be the king of epic warfare. Right now it just feels like a disappointment.
