Probably because they're desperately trying to be like the behemoth that is CoD and attract Zoomers (Literal and generational) who can't play a game without Fortnite-style movement mechanics.
Of course, once CoD Korean Warfare releases, I expect a massive amount of those players will drop off and go there instead, because BF6 can only claim to be the best selling shooter of 2025 because the latest CoD was straight cheeks and people needed their FPS fix from somewhere.
"DICE and EA developers have actively responded to bunny hopping in Battlefield games. They stated that "CoD-like" movement mechanics—such as uncontrolled, momentum-retaining bunny hopping, slide-shooting, and jump-shooting—do not belong in the franchise."
Hopefully somebody can drill into the brains of these Swedish meatballs and remind them of this one, cause all three of those things are absolutely endemic to BF6 and if I wanted to play a fast-paced shooter where that kind of thing was expected, i'd go play no-build Fortnite instead. (At least Fortnite has competent netcode.)
