Challenges - Poorly written, broken, un-tested, impossible.
I am sure we all have seen by now, the challenges has been clearly an un-tested afterthought at the most.
Few examples to give, I know there are issues with many challenge and assignment.
The ones that stood out the most to me: (Sorry I may remember the names wrong or not at all, can't check them since they are completed)
The Poorly Written:
Weapon Expert, 15 kills with different weapons in a match?
- No, it's actually 15 kills from 75+ meters with any weapon, no need to change. Iirc single match wasn't really even required.
Weapon Expert, 10? long, medium and short range kills in a match.
-No, 10 gunslinger kills in as many matches as you want. 1st kill with primary, then right after with secondary.
The Broken:
Any challenge that includes healing, they never work.
-You need the Sun, the planets and the moon to align, for your healing to count. And when it counts, the amount is so small that it takes sometimes countless of maps to finish a single simple assignment.
Any challenge that includes repairing, they never work.
-Same as with healing, you need everything to align for your repair to count. And when you repair, the repair points are 1/10th of the actual tanks health
Assault incendiary airburst challenge.
Only direct impact damage is counted, no splash damage or incendiary damage at all.
The "Impossible" and un-tested:
Engineer final quest, repair 6000 in a match.
-I'm sure this was never tested pre-launch. The quest would be possible if you were actually awarded as many points as you did heal the tank. Now it's around 1/10th. Pretty much only way to achieve this is to abuse a bug etc.
30 revives in Squad Deathmatch.
-30 revives in a game mode where the score limit is 50 is just absurd.
And finally,
The Re-Adjustment.
On Friday this week, you informed that you were thinking of changing the challenge requirements, most of which are also mentioned above.
What this tells me, is that you never tested these challenges. You are ready to reduce the requirements by 90% in one go? Really? It was never about how hard the challenges are, but about how poor the implementation was.
I have a very reasonable suggestion. Instead of that, fix your game!
Assault adrenaline injector kills from 30 to 3.
Fix: Increase the time that the injector effect is active. Now it feels like 1-2 seconds.
Engineer repair in a match from 6000 to 1000
Fix: Increase the reward for repairing, now it's 1/10th of the repeaired damage.
