Could DICE learn from Respawn Entertainment how to optimize the console user experience?
This feature was not available in Battlefield 2042 (Xbox Series X|S Edition), but the Xbox One Edition of Battlefield 2042 was console only.
This makes sense - console players do not wish to play against PC's with key binding etc - we can alleviate much of the lobby filling issue if there is a 'console only option" for xbox & PS5
I don't personally believe that we'll get this option, based on Dice seemingly being resistant to let PC players opt-put of crossplay. It may not even be possible, depending on how the matchmaking system works. The only reason it was possible in BF2042 was because there was a last gen console version released, and it just wasn't technically viable to include PC in matchmaking in that version.
I agree that they should do this. As you mentioned that respawn do it with Apex for example and it works perfectly. But what I will say I use to play on Xbox recently until it went wrong and kept shutting down every 30 mins. I switched to PS5 as I have mates who moved there as well and from what I’ve seen there are a lot more players on PS5, never had any bots in my lobbies. I think PlayStation offer a lot more console wise. I’m not saying buy a ps5 as it’s more expensive but you get the idea. If you are wondering there is cross progression so you won’t lose your progress as long as you link your accounts to the ea site.
like I said I agree with you and would like this to happen to make this a lot better for all console users. Would minimize bots in lobbies and benefit both console and pc players as they don’t like playing against console players as well.

Also include PC players who have controllers plugged into PC. I see no reason why PC players and console/controller players have to play together in peak Internet traffic hours... unless the console player joins with PC friends together.
