I’d be happy if a direct hit was an instant kill instead of acting like you got hit by a water balloon. Even just landing within 1m of a player should sting more. Mortars shouldn’t need pixel-perfect hits and half the time a shell landing right on someone still doesn’t finish them. The position pinging definitely shouldn’t work the way it does either. It should only ping when the mortar is fired, like older Battlefield games, not constantly expose you for trying to use it.
You shouldn’t be able to fire mortars from HQ though. If that was allowed you’d have an entire team sitting back there shelling nonstop. If spotting was fixed properly, that alone would make the mortar more usable without breaking the game.
Smokes are 100% useless like you said, those need a buff. Maybe make the mortar fire one shell that splits into three smoke charges so it actually covers an area instead of making one tiny puff that does nothing.
I also agree on the attachment system the point-limit thing is awful. If I unlock something for a gun I should be able to run it how I want, not be told “pick two.” Some of the map boundary areas definitely need to be expanded too.
And more scopes would always be a plus. Give us the old BF4 Ballistic 40x so I can see your nose hairs from across BF6's tiny maps as well as the 20x. No one’s going to complain about more optic options. OR will they lol.
