Dislike how you can’t use optics on PC

You can for a very select few weapons and yes you can go single fire and effectively use it

but….

If I use a 1x and tap fire targets med to long range effectively why when I equip a 3x and do the exact same input not a single shot will hit

I mean I know the answer but I just dislike it

Optics amplify recoil which makes zero sense, hence why on console it’s less an issue as base recoil is already lower, it’s the input required to control that recoil that is higher when using optics.

And why optics on an SMG actually work but not on an AR/carbine/LMG it’s all about the base recoil

  • technically the recoil is there to make people burst more.

Practically most guns can still bullet hose

Spread is there to make people burst more. Recoil is just a matter of pulling your mouse in the opposite direction. The fact that optics amplify the perception of recoil makes sense. Because at 2x zoom you would also perceive the recoil to be 2x as heavy.

What Battlefield 6 does wrong is that uniform infantry aiming is broken for any optic aside from 1x. This effectively means that the sensitivity while zoomed in is roughly halved, depending on your configured coefficient. As a result of this, the actual recoil is at least double for higher magnification scopes. Combine the perceived recoil with the actual recoil and you end up with the recoil feeling 4x as bad.

Well you can fix this by increasing the sensitivity per zoom level but it doesn’t fix the issue

You won’t be able to control your aim if you get the same “sensitivity” with 1x vs like 3x

The issue in the end is, the ratio between look sensitivity and input required to control recoil changes when using optics.

The only real fix is lower recoil when using optics to keep the ratio the same

It’s the exact reason why high FOV 1x can be very OP, you have very high ratio where a little input controls a lot of recoil making it just easier to control.

Recoil of a weapon won’t change when using optics irl, the weapon doesn’t kick more with a scope. Else closing your eyes would reduce recoil lol.

  • Just tried it in Bf3 for the lols

The same issue BUT something called ADS FOV became a part of Battlefield and default with BF6

Basically the ratio difference between 1x and 3x because of ADS FOV is MASSIVE, while with BF3 the extra input required for recoil control 1x vs 3.4x in this case is very minimal.

Always kinda hated the addition of this ADS FOV
