Give the Spawn Beacon back to the Recon

The Assault having the beacon doesn't feel right. "Ahhhh campers" yeah I camp but I'm sitting in the capture zone when I do it, not on mountain. I'll lay down a TUG and use the Drone. I would set up the spawn beacon a bit outside the objective on a flank side so my squad can keep coming from an angle.

I don't find a need for the Spawn Beacon when I'm on Recon.  I am the beacon.  I'll put myself off to the side of a capture point and lay down in cover when I'm using drone or designator, then when I'm out of those I go in with TUG and sensor ball.  I feel like I get the most out of the kit, but I never run a sniper rifle.

I think Spawn Beacon does belong on Assault, but as the class gadget.  The push forward, forward spawn point(our Assault player is usually in combat, so can't spawn on him).

Having said that, maybe Recon should  have a different/similar gadget, like Tent.  A one-use camping tool.  I feel like it needs some limitation though, to stop the toxic level camping everyone hates.  And that range finder needs to be yeeted to stop snipers one-shotting at any range with little effort.

Actually I think the classes need a rework :)

The assault is going to assault, not sneak around for to set up an entry point for a flank. That is the job of the sneaky recon and their beacon. It is also the job of the other subclass of the recon.

  • It seems like common sense, considering the spawn beacon has always been a staple of the Recon kit, ever since Battlefield 3.

I disagree in part.  I think the Assault can make good  use of the Spawn Beacon, it just might not be in a sneaky flank position.  Capture a point, drop one down close to point in case you need to get back if they capture it.  About to charge a position, put one down in cover.
At least that's how we've been using it.

Snipers seem to abuse them, using them to camp up a mountain or in some exploit area they aren't supposed to be.  Other classes aren't good with sniper rifles now(as far as i heard), so that solves the sniper rifle/beacon issue that many people had.
However other non-sniper kits of the Recon maybe should get it, but not be good with sniper rifles - personally I'd love that.  Those would be the sneaky sort that get flank position for their beacon, and then close in with their squad.

Unfortunately it was very common that snipers were not using the beacon for the squad as intended, and I do think it fits in the Assault kit, but not only the Assault kit.  Just not with a sniper rifle :)

YES HAHAHAH. They literally made a subclass for recon thats meant for stealth infiltrations but take away the spawn beacon. EA at its best! How they can **bleep** up so much at this point doesnt even surprise me anymore haha.

You hit the nail on head. Everyone becomes a "Spawn beacon" once out-of-combat. Most players don't pay attention at all when they are the last member of the team alive and, instead of staying prone in the corner waiting teammates to respawn, they die silly by rushing and whole team needs to take the walk.

I play Recon as my main and I completely disagree with these fanboy wishes that he needs to have the Beacon back.

If you play the sniper class, i.e. camping afar from the real action, the spawn beacon is meaningless and 99% players will use it selfishly. Also, it takes only few seconds to pause and stay out of combat.

If you play behind the enemy lines or right in the mix of it, you will probably use the Spec Ops route that gives you 1.5 seconds earlier out-of-combat.

I don't mind Assault having the beacon. At least it will be somewhat closer to the objectives.. Also, the whole Assault class is currently a bit lacklustre...

Bla bla rubbish talk from someone that leis saying he is a sniper player. I won more matches position as a sniper in previous titles then dump players position beacon 1 meter in front the objective. And once more i gonna say that only players that are having or at least huge amount finishing the beacon assignments are reacon players that got a gadget yet again stolen like in bf4 the c4

I don't mind the spawn beacon being on the assault class. What I do mind, is that it takes one of the more ridiculous challenges to unlock. While I've enjoyed the game so far without concerning myself with class unlocks. I figured, I really need to unlock the important equipment in the game that I've used in every other BF game. Wow, was I in for a surprise... 30 kills while using the most useless equipment in the game? It's an insufferable challenge. Having just completed it, I'm actually mad at myself for grinding through it. The animation takes about as long to activate it as it lasts; speaking of, what the hell does it even do? Make your movement speed increase? Wow, awesome gameplay design. I bet it used to actually be useful and then they nerfed it into the ground without addressing the related challenges. Seriously, the class challenge design has really put a damper on my enjoyment of this game now. Important class equipment being locked behind these grindy challenges makes me not recommend purchasing the full game to anyone who doesn't hate themselves.

  • I rather they better defined the classes overall.

1st. If they keep the beacon on assault make it their signature gadget instead of the injector and make the drone or laser designator recons signature gadget.

2nd. Mix or fuse frontline and breach paths into one path and make the second path squad leader or officer which buffs or improves team performance and points when following orders or taking objectives designated by this path

3th. Remove spawn from other classes but assault, so no class can spawn to recon, support, and engineer but all classes can spawn to assault. This could redefine how game play flows, hopefully more strategy
