Surely DICE is aware that a huge swath of console players have been able to get their copies of the game from retailers and play for the past 12 hours?

Just hit the launch button now. Why does everyone who purchased a digital version of the game have to wait for the official launch times at this point? What was the point of the launch times when people have been able to pick up and play the game for like a whole day, and in some cases, 2 days?
