I Feel The Weapon Attachment Points Should Be Increased/Reworked

Hello, ya’ll

I was wondering what you guys think about EA looking into increasing the attachment points for sidearms. My favorite pistol has always been the M1911 or other variants like the current M45A1 in Battlefield 6, but with the base attachments taking up points, I can’t even equip a suppressor and extended magazine on the pistols together with no other attachments on. I like just being able to make my weapon look cool, having suppressors, lasers, scopes, and all attached on, but with the limit on pistol attachments being 70, I feel like im very limited and can’t really enjoy the attachments. With some of the primaries, too. I get what they’re trying to do with balance of weapons, but this is just supposed to be a fun, sandbox shooter that you can enjoy with friends. I wanna be able to have a thermal, suppressor, grip, laser sight, and different bullets and such but the points for those higher level attachment unlocks take up so much. Maybe if they just limit attachments to battle royal since it’s a bit more “competitive”, and in normal multiplayer we can just equip whatever to make our guns feel cool and have fun. I feel like at the very least, the base attachments shouldn’t take up points. I think the system just needs a rework. It feels too much like a call of duty, where we’re limited to a few attachments. Thank you guys for reading.

  • I agree

I managed to unlock some stuff on the starting sniper rifle and as soon as you unlock the DLC bolt, you no longer have enough attachment points. This thing costs 30 points for something that IMHO should have been included from the start instead of an attachment.

yes the current attachment limit is a real killjoy

Agreed, current system needs an overhaul. There are attachments that cost anywhere from 40-55 points which is ridiculous. There are some that do hardly anything but still cost 20-25 points. The costs are just too high and it is far too limiting on build combos. A single attachment should not cost more than 30 and anything below its quality should be adjusted appropriately. It's very frustrating because you spend all this time grinding weapon levels to get these attachments and you cant even use them because the cost is so high.

  • Please remove the weapon attachment point system! If the weapon has the ability to have an attachment in a slot, then you should be able to use it! All the old BF games were that way! Why did they have to copy CoD with this?! It's not OP if everyone can do it! It's so dumb and not realistic. At a minimum, make default attachments cost 0 points!

  • The point system needs to go! We grinded hours away to unlock guns and their attachments just to be told we cant use half of what we worked hard for. At least take the point system away when a weapon reaches Teir 1!  It is pointless to have all these attachments but we cannot use them.

  • There are some attachments that are too expensive for what they offer, but in general the system is great. You have to make some actual choices. The fact that you need to make choices that represent real benefits, but also real downsides means that build variety matters. That frustration you feel is because the downsides actually matter to you and that's a good thing.

While I get that you want to be able to select everything, but that also means that it's easy to identify a single meta build for every single gun as opposed to having multiple builds to choose from. The amount of build variety it offers is in my opinion far superior than the attachment systems that Battlefield has had in the past.

  • i agree. if you use an lmg and want an extended mag....boom.. 55 points in 1 hit.

  • There should be no point cost for attachments. If I grind a single gun to level 50 for 15 days I want my sweat and tears (mostly tears) be rewarded with the best possible gun attachments. You don't want to be killed by my super cool lvl 50 gun, than boo hoo go grind it yourself...

  • For sidearms yes I agree completely. Fpr primary weapons I could take it or leave it for now

  • I agree, the attachment point system takes away alot of the joy of getting new attachments for your weapons because you most likely cant use the anyway..
