I think I’m done

with Battlefield. I’ve been playing BF for 22+ years and have every game in the franchise. At least the ones they let me keep on CD and didn’t too-bad-so-sad kill the servers for.

Why?

Aim assist.

The maps, particularly small CQ maps like TDM, are unplayable thanks to the massive advantage disparity given some players thanks to whatever netcode, aim assist bump, and exploit (script, cronus, cheat, whatever) they’re taking advantge of.

75% of the games will have one to four players taking 70% of the kills. 30-40 kills between one or two players a side out of 50 to win.  The matches are all but unplayable; you spawn, head toward the action, come around a corner, brrt insta-dead.  Repeat. Or get picked off at 70 meters by an SMG or carbine in a short burst. This should be impossible due to bloom/spread. The bigger maps are somewhat better as they don’t get to camp so easily, but they still F up a game by hanging back and statpadding by griefing players trying to cap objectives. Their advantage is glaringly and blatantly obvious.

It’s no fun anymore, it ruins gameplay, and I don’t see EA doing a d*mn thing about it.  Plenty of patches or updates have come and gone with no addressing the issue.  I gave it a chance, but I think that’s all folks

Considering the work EA/DICE has put into patching this title for so long, it's clear that the developers have abandoned its further development – currently focusing only on unimportant things like character skins and the development of their Battle Royale (which practically no one plays), completely ignoring player requests for help getting this title back on track.

But they don't care, continuing down the path of a blind man who will fail sooner or later.

The people managing this project have absolutely no idea what Battlefield was or is, turning our favorite series into a mindless Call of Duty – aimed at teenagers.

Showing the middle finger to all the veterans of the series who supported them from the very beginning.

I very rarely come here to post anything unless I feel pretty strongly about it....even though I know it will go ignored by anyone who could do anything about it. But I guess I just have to get it off my chest and relieve the frustration a bit. Every update takes a tiny step towards being a worse game while it appears every season will take a large stride in that same direction (given the fact the devs said season 2 will be the foundations for future seasons).

Just to get it out into the ether.... please DICE/(and probably more importantly) EA execs, be your own game. The game we all love from the bad company/bf3 era. Quit trying to be call of battlefield. As it stands right now between lmgs and smgs its whoever sees the other person first wins. The straight up beaming of these weapons, at range, with the extreme rof/damage of some is just stupid. Jumping shot kills should be nigh impossible but its a common situation. You kind of headed in the right direction with the destruction but need to go further. And map design as a whole is just kind of meh. BF series was about more tactical positioning (every map now seems a wide open fuster cluck save a few good ones), good gunplay (nonexistent at this point) and awesome destruction (close). At least thats my opinion and what my experience has been. I guess most of this has been said already here but, again, just wanted to get my 2 cents off my chest.

  • All this talk about "We hear you players!" and they never say a single thing about how broken the controller abuse is.  It's so bad even PC players are swapping over and swimming in kills going over 10/1 KDR in games.  I have no idea how any reasonable person can look at this situation and not see that there is a problem.  Even if they want to keep the players together, how in the world is it ok for a person to be getting over 10/1 KDR as infantry?  Sure, there are some super skilled players who are capable of this.  But in every game?  Nah, nope, this is clearly a problem that is being obviously ignored.

It's so tiring playing the game, seeing the blatantly obvious advantage a controller abuser gets to enjoy, and just getting steamrolled by a person who never even tried to ADS at 50m and still just brains you with all their shots.  Something is broken, and EA is just dancing on their pile of money while laughing at us.

Skill issue...and aging... I used to be a good player now I get wrecked all the time but I'm not complaing the device or the controller...it is just me that became too old for fast paced games. If you played battlefield for 22 years or even more perhaps keep considering the fact youg players are just better an faster than us.

Yes but , most airplanes veterans are considered "safer pilots" than young ones ,at seas , the old captain is always more trusted than youger ones,  even when they brought people into space , there is always a +40 years old pilot with experience and skill that young ones haven't , considering this , we are not too old for this , it's just we don't spend as much time as when we were younger , so our skill / experience is impacted !

Y’all aren’t able to read so well, are you?  I’m not complaining about my ability to twitch game and hit them. I can pull off a #1 slot once in a while and top 5 spot (not necessarily kills, but points) without working too hard,  but not all day long,  so my “skill issue” isn’t a skill issue.  What a waste of time to even use that term.  I’m far better than average as a player

It’s not my “skill” when controller AA welfare players don’t miss with an SGX at 60M.

  • I mean if you're doing better than most players then wouldn't it stand to reason that if you're dying a bunch to various dudes its simply just ones better than you in turn?

Like I get the whole gripe with aim assist sure, but if you're a fairly consistent top 5 player for the team/lobby then idk what the issue really is cause you're doing well in the matches and better than the others. Idk maybe we're just taking the whole thing a bit too seriously.
