Insanely irritating points of interest 160H playtime.
First off, the game is great. I am having an absoute blast. Bravo devs +1.
There are some glaring issues wich make me quit sooner then I want on some evenings namely:
Smoke assist Challenge for support: I am someone who understands that when your team is in a chokehold you need to smoke certain areas to let the team have a safe pass to said area. Now, I am on the smoke assist challenge and it infuriates me how slow of progress it is. I seems that my teammates have to kill enemies while said teammates are in my smoke. So essentially the game wants me to chug smokes at my teammates and hope they kill someone before moving to a different spot because they cant see anything. I tried this a couple of times but I really cant stand having to blind my teammates with smoke to get my challenge done. So after a few tries I stopped doing that because it did more harm then anything else. When I use my smokes like they are intended I rarely get a smoke assist. It's just stupid design. Why not turn the challenge into: Get 25 concealed revives or something like that. I want the skins but at this pace I will have them in 3 months minimum.
SMG range: I still find myself losing gunfights at range against SMG's who can spray me pretty consistently at range while I have to tap fire (with a carbine for crying out loud!). All while hitting my shots... like come on guys how is this realistic. me tapfiring a carbine hitting every shot should not lose to an smg TTK wise at longer ranges. Now if I missed my shots I'd understand, but I just came out of a game where I lost like 4 range fights against an smg wielder and the guy did not even tap fire, while I did (with a CARBINE). This cant be right. SMG's need more bloom at medium to long ranges and need more damage fall off. I am fine with losing CQB fights against an smg, not a rangefight.
Hit Registration: Some games I find myself dying because my hits simply dont register in time, I have my red dot on centermass from like 5 meters away and none of the hits register, but I die instantly. Then when I look at the scoreboard I see the guy who I lost to has a Wifi icon with an exclamation mark on it, meaning the guy has bad connection. Why am I being punished for having a good ping against someone with a bad connection? how is this acceptable? it should be the other way around... it's crazy to me.
Spawn deaths: There are maps when you spawn in at the game start, and you quickly want to adjust your loadout. So I hop into my loadout for 4 seconds and do a quick attachment change, and before I can get back into the game a sniper has already killed me. This is also bad design, how can I be shot at in the first 5 seconds of a game. either let me spawn in a safe area or make spawns at HQ give you a 5 second spawn ghost so you cant get killed. Mind you, this was at the GAME START when everyone is standing ready. I dont know if it was bug abuse or what. but it happened. Also just simply make me not able to spawn in areas the enemy has their sight on. Just block off spawning there completely (like when I also cant spawn on squad mates when they are in combat) or just make me spawn in a spot where I am safe from enemy shots.
Gun balancing: Some guns are just subpar to others. There are guns that have a low dmg per shot and low firerate, while other guns have the same or higher firerate with higher dmg per bullet. it doese not make any sense.
