depending on how the anticheat handles it (it won't work with AutoHotkey running, for instance), you may, perhaps, be able to use x360ce to translate DirectInput to Xinput, which would give you a virtual Xbox controller driven by the joystick.
Did you try disabling steam input? Also I had to disable one axe on my VKB Gladiator for it to be recognised...
