My issues with the beta/my survey response
While I am a huge fan of Battlefield and have even enjoyed this current version of 2042, I started my journey with 3 and have the most fondness for 3 and 4. I would like to say I enjoyed my time with the beta, though I did have a few issues. That being said, here is my long-winded response to the beta survey that I am totally sure some live person will totally actually read (read sarcasm). Please let me know your thoughts as well.
"The weapon attachment point buy system is inherently terrible and leads to 'meta' builds where players forgo personal views and style to go towards nothing but stats on a weapon. It also gets rid of the satisfaction of using a weapon that you love and like and maxing out the weapon to use all the attachments you unlocked, as by the time you are halfway through leveling the weapon, you will not be able to use late-stage attachments, as they will cost too much for use.
Shotguns are too powerful in the current sandbox; they need their range cut roughly in half.
Sniper glare also needs to be cut in half, as turning a corner and seeing 10 new suns is not helpful.
The colour filter needs to go away. Having everything be "Middle Eastern tan" from crappy action movies is not conducive to a game released in 2025. You have shown you can make beautiful games. Stop kneecapping yourself.
Controller and button mapping need an overhaul. Being unable to map an action to a press or hold of a button lowers our ability to respond to others and control our own abilities. The fact that there isn't controller parity between titles means learning new schemes each time. Either adding "legacy" schemes or making them closer to each other would help.
Finally, the identify-friend/foe (I.F.F.) on enemies is too easy/fast, dissuading players from making tactical moves in the face of being spotted instantly. The easiest fix is to make a larger disparity in the looks of the "teams" and lower the spot time/easy."
I didn't spend enough quality time in vehicles to make any assumptions on their use, and I almost exclusively played as a support medic the entire time, so I can not make any quality statements on the other classes. Though I would like the ability to have drag and heal be two separate buttons as a medic, cause oddly the medic heal is a little too fast in some scenario,s making me revive someone before I can pull them entirely to safety. ( I forgot to put this paragraph in the survey)
