I understand that, but that’s just how things work in games. There’s restrictions to balance gameplay. The difference is where you draw the line. You prefer more freedom, but that will ultimately come at a cost, potentially it might lead to overpowered loadouts. The more freedom you have, the bigger that risk becomes.
In my personal experience, the class system, with it’s weapon restrictions has a proven trackrecord. It has always worked really well in previous installments. We also know that the specialist system doesn’t work well. So I prefer the system with a proven trackrecord instead of them playing around trying to fix something that isn’t broken.
Good points and i agree.
But In-game i had no issues with the open weapon system. I had many moments with great squad/teamplay.
On these close quarter maps i have not been sniped at all and on "peak" ones a recon gets spotted it's going down in minutes. I had many tank or heli plays where i killed the spotted recon and the spawn beacon with it.
For the other classes i also had no issues yet, maybe ones there are more gadgets etc it will be different but thats something to balance out for the developers.
If it the system would be closed i feel like they should change the classes all together. The Assault class is worthless then, the injector i hardly use, grenade launcher does not have enough damage/radius and ammo. The support feels to complicated with nothing in return.

You may not experience any "issues" directly, but the issues come when EVERYONE is using the same 2 weapons, it removes a layer of game strategy and dumbs it down into a generic shooter, where everyone can be self-sufficient as support. This will lead to more stalemates and longer matches. You not wanting to switch classes because they use a different weapon type is literally the laziest argument ever. Why would you ever play assault in an open system when you can just play support and have instant heals and infinite ammo with the best weapons?
Whats the point of assault at all then in an open system?
This question directly pokes a hole in your logic:TheCovenant98 wrote:

The Assault class is not worthless at all in a closed system. They have the best weapons. The most versatility in engagement distances. The ability to see through walls sometimes. They are the ultimate attack class, but in exchange for that they give up utility. The grenade launchers are insanely strong and you can equip 2 of them if you drop the shotgun PLUS you can probably get an underslung launcher in full release.
The support is not complicated it's just a DIFFERENT role. You aren't meant to be top fragging as a support. You are meant to be focused on supporting the assaults and engineers. Fine you don't like LMGs? (not sure why the KTS is insane 3 hit kill). Use a carbine, DMR or shotgun.
Your argument is entirely invalid dude. You not wanting to switch because of the weapon type is entirely a YOU problem not a game design problem.
