Placing Chinese Army skin on Japanese descent is unacceptable!!!

For any Chinese players who have played 2042 and pre-ordered bf6,the leak of the COMMANDER skin must be exciting.For Chinese players have played 2042 for long time to obtain the skin,which is unlocked in level 49.There are some reasons why the skin is the actual "level 60" instead of real level 60.We Chinese have long expected to see a character who is played as CN team since the restriction of BF4.And the epaulet of COMMANDER is the very flag--national flag of China,which excites so many players to complete the weekly tasks to unlock the skin.

BUT sadly,from the intel that leaks from BF lab,we see the character is not Chinese soldier at all.Instead,it is based on a Japanese character and plays for NATO rather than PAX.Most importantly,the flag epaulet we all expected,at least in the leaking skin display,is gone.The decision has provoking public outrage in Chinese gaming environment.

We understand that EA is trying to avoid the recurrence the tragedy of BF4 and spares no efforts to avoid any political issues.But as we both know,the true reason why BF4 get banned is its political-sensitive campaign instead of the involvement of CN.There are so many games involve PLA such as squad,BF2.So the decision to remove the Chinese character is a wrong decision, and it could result many core players who played 2042 hard to get the skin disheartened,disappointed,eventually request refund.

Given that the lab is lab, we don't know whether DICE will switch the COMMANDER model to a more appropriate one.We hope it is a temporary model but it has surely raised much concern.

I love to play BF series and I am in one of the players who eager to obtain the skin.I hope DICE can see it and get the problem fixed

I don't know if the views expressed here can be seen by DICE. The incident has already escalated significantly in the Battlefield community in China. If they at EA truly value sales, they should at least show respect for the Chinese people.

The Chinese community was so thrilled when they found out they could continue playing their favorite Chinese BF4 soldier in BF6 and receive some level of representation in the game. Many even came back to play BF2042 and spent day and night grinding that battle pass to level 49, only to find out the Chinese soldier skin is for a NATO JAPANESE FEMALE SOLDIER Kimura?

I am so appalled by the cultural appropriation and this decision, and the underlying racism of DICE. Do they seriously think that it would be a good fit simply because Chinese and Japanese are all Asian? Do DICE even dare to put the BF4 Russian soldier skin onto a Ukrainian soldier in BF6? Why is it that when it comes to white people, DICE suddenly understands all the complications between geopolitical tension and knows not all white people are the same?

I understand that DICE wants to please the Chinese community to play BF6 by this skin, but they are doing exactly the opposite right now. The decision to censored the Chinese flag on the arm is a disappointing but understandable move, but fitting that skin onto a Japanese soldier would only be considered a direct humiliation to players. 

How difficult would it be to fit a new soldier model with a few lines of background anyway? Just copy paste one Pax Armata soldier model and fit the skin onto him, write a few lines of background about this Chinese soldier fighting the war, representing himself, and call it a day. They don't even need to redo the face considering the gas mask

Also, 2 battlepass skins for NATO and 0 for Pax? Phantom skin modifications? Seriously DICE?  

If they made a mistake that involves such a historically sensitive subject, they should just own up to it, apologize and find a satisfactory solution. Though it's quite peculiar to see you explain why it's historically insensitive and then in the same thread mention that you asked ChatGPT to generate a satirical image of a highly sensitive subject as well. It's probably for the best that ChatGPT didn't let you do that.

Oh my! What big words! Cultural appropriation, racism, Japanese-Chinese wars All for what, for a skin in a game that doesn't even exist in real life in Chinese ? Almost as if you really should go to war against everyone? Almost as if that skin was made and designed specifically by a Chinese player for a Chinese player. I agree that that skin should be included in the Chinese factions, but making it a personal and racist issue seems excessive to me. Calm down!

DICE   did not specifically give away the Chinese with that skin because all the players around the world used Battlefield 4, even the Japanese, and they didn't make a fuss about it; they opened the history books. That skin is a gift to the players who remember those great times. So, my dears, don't ruin everything by bringing race, history, or geopolitics into it. It's a game, and we're all here to have fun.

From my personal perspective, I agree that games should remain separate from real-world elements.
However, there have been far too many instances of well-intentioned actions leading to undesirable outcomes in this world 'n' game companies are no exception on it. Since this character skin was offered as a free battle pass reward, there is truly no reason to go against players' wishes to the extent that offering a free gift ends up attracting criticism.

EA staff could easily resolve this situation by simply assigning this skin to a new character and crafting a few lines of plausible backstory—for example, describing the character as a "Chinese consultant hired by Pax." This would completely settle the matter.
