Please bring the underlying mechanism of the game back to the Beta version.
This is the conclusion I reached after understanding the test on August 29th.Let me ask you a question. Which battle royale game on the market uses a gunplay mechanism similar to that of Battlefield 4?Is it Call of Duty: Warzone or Apex from the studio next door?Or did you prepare two sets of gunplay mechanisms, one for the main game and the other for the battle royale?
Which player would want to play a battle royale game where they have to stay in a dangerous position and only fire a few shots at the enemies?Battle royale emphasizes high mobility and precision. With your current production capacity, can you develop two sets of gunplay mechanisms and make long-term adjustments to balance them? This is obviously unrealistic. So after the failure of the battle royale mode in both Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042, are you still planning to fail for the third time?
Your game, whether it's the main game or the battle royale mode, should be accessible to the general public. And as the core of FPS games, gunplay should better meet the demands of the majority of players. The current problem in the battlefield community is that the voices of a small group of veteran players are overpowering those of the majority of regular players. Some veterans of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 believe that a gameplay similar to that of Battlefield 4 should be adopted. However, they do not represent the larger proportion of the general player base. Many players only turn on their computers or PS5 to play for a few hours after studying or working. They seldom post their opinions on video websites or game communities, and they don't have much time to delve deeply into certain mechanisms of the games. However, this doesn't mean that their gaming experiences are unimportant.
In the previous beta test, Battlefield 6 has already received widespread praise, so I don't understand why you changed the gunplay in the test on August 29th.This is the most crucial mechanism, but you have chosen to make significant modifications to it.This is likely to result in the formal version and the Beta version being two different games in terms of the gaming experience.
👉🏻Here is the solution I have proposed.
Stop your reactive and superficial approach to solving problems.
①Based on the gunplay mechanism of the beta test, solve the problem of too short mid-range TTK.Increase the attenuation rate of the weapon's effectiveness as it approaches the target during shooting, while reducing the rate of fire of the assault rifle. My suggestion is to set it between 550 and 720.The sudden death of players is caused by excessive damage and high firing rate.At the same time, the excessive attributes of the assault rifle will lead to a decrease in the selection rate of the submachine gun. Many players will choose the assault rifle, which offers stable long-range shooting and is not inferior to the submachine gun in close-range combat.
②Improve the accuracy of shooting while in motion. What I mean is to enhance it, not to further weaken it as you are currently doing. This enables players to gain the opportunity for counterattacks by using their movements when being attacked. This is of crucial importance in the battle royale mode.
③Enhance the strength of the armed vehicles.During the Beta testing phase, due to the relatively small size of the map, tanks and armored vehicles could receive repairs from nearby engineers during their attacks. The existence of the maintenance tasks has also enhanced the enthusiasm of the engineering troops in maintaining the vehicles. However, in the final days of the Beta test, the number of engineers responsible for maintaining the vehicles decreased to some extent, as most players had already completed their maintenance tasks. The game map in this test was much larger, making it difficult for tanks and armored vehicles to receive timely repairs. At the same time, the low strength of the vehicles indirectly led to a very low success rate for the attacking side in the breakthrough mode. The defending side could take advantage of the terrain to launch a defense, but the attacking side lacked terrain advantages and there were no tanks with sufficient strength to help them break through the defense line.
I have always firmly believed that what most players approve of is good. The Beta test has proved the success of the underlying mechanics of Battlefield 6. What you need to do is fix the bugs and adjust the weapon values, rather than spending more time changing the underlying mechanics.
