Props & Rubble Interrupting Movement & Gadget Placement

At the moment there is a lot of maps that contain small props and clutter such as cardboard boxes, household items, debris, rubbish, glassware, etc, which is fantastic. Gives the game the "John Woo Hard boiled" experience I'm ever so in love with in this game, do not remove this clutter.
(if anything add the option for more so people with beefy pc's can go overboard.)

But I've found a lot of this clutter impacting player movement aswell as gadget placement, to the frustration of many.
On Iberian Offensive there is a lot of building debris and low windows sills that you should be able to walk over/through, but requires you to jump instead. This really impacts those attempting to evade through what would be an easy excape path turns into their shoelace getting stuck on a brick.

Keep in mind Iberian Offensive isn't the only one guilty of this, I believe a lot of the maps currently in the game, if not all of them, have clutter that will impede movement.

On Manhattan Bridge a lot of back alley rubbish like empty and open cardboard boxes also impedes movement requiring one to slash boxes out of their way like they're in a jungle with a machete.

Like previously said, Manhattan Bridge is not the only offender in this prop department.

Liberation Peak is a great example of props/clutter interrupting gadget placement. The carpets in a lot of the buildings won't let you place the Recons Motion Sensor, Claymore and Binoculars aswell as the Assaults Radio Beacon.

The solution that makes sense in my brain is to make these props non solid upon player characters, or have these props explode upon being stepped through.
As for rubble, whether pre-placed or as a result of the games destruction. These just need some smoothing out on their collision in relation to player movement.

Hope this gets fixed at some point!

  • I've been complaining about this stuff for years at this point. It's been a big problem since BF3. When you're trying to aim at people, and every milliseconds matters, it's incredibly frustrating when you can't seem to find a flat spot on the ground. Every time you aim, it's like you're bobbing up and down an inch.

Dice devs sure do love their props and particle effects. Above all else, there must never be a flat piece of ground to be found anywhere on the map.

The game graphics are very high quality, so I get they want to show it off, but I agree with your sentiment. The props will get stuck to you, to the tanks, interfere with gadget placement, throw off you're aim because your character is now deciding to step over it or on top of it.

I always thought, what game are they trying to make? A competitive fast twitch shooter with tight game play? Or a MilSim light that feels more like a game and less like a chore?
