SBMM and EOMM: we need a clear statement from DICE/EA

Since this topic is generating so much distrust and confusion inside the BF community, in order to get this cleared out once and for all, I open this discussion in order that everyone of us can ask EA and DICE to inform us in a clear way, throught an official channel, about if and how SBMM and EOMM are currently or will be used in BF6.

I'm not here to say if such systems are present or not.

I'm not asking you. the players, to tell if they are present or not.

I'm asking you to raise your voice in order to get a clear and unequivocable statement from EA and DICE about this argument.

Should we not get any response, we will draw our own conclusions and weight the trust we can give to this company.

Make sure to leave a comment below and ask for an official response from the developers and share this discussion with everyone you can.

This is only done in our own interests. Hope you understand and help this community.

  • There was an interview pre-launch where they confirmed that SBMM is in the game "but a low priority factor, and depends on the game mode (higher in smaller TDM-style modes)".

Obviously the issue with that (and matchmaking compared to a server browser in general) is the complete lack of transparency, they can tune it at any time without us knowing.

SBMM is clearly the biggest reason why they went from a server browser to matchmaking, server costs are just an excuse to distract from the obvious. They acknowledged in the BFV era that they changed the TTK to stop high fluctuation from newer and low-skilled players, next game (2042) they had matchmaking, make your own conclusions.

  • You're confusing the Battlefield community with the Call of Duty community. This isn't actually a popular subject of conversation on all social media channels I've seen so far, and it's only you and maybe a small number of people that I've seen that has brought it up. None of the people I've seen so far has managed to produce any substantive evidence, and at least for now I have no reason to think it's anything other than a conspiracy theory.

Having said that, I do think it's a good thing when a company provides transparency regarding the algorithms that are used to match players together, whether that be a social media company or a game studio. For that reason alone, I'll support your request for an official statement from EA.

Let's be honest though, EA never responds to threads on this forum. It certainly won't change the amount of trust I give EA, because I know exactly what kind of company I'm buying a game from.

Why do you want a statement? We want it removed. I don't care what they have to say about it, and they'd just lie about it anyway. It needs to be gone. Period.
