Unfair Double XP weekend early access
As it currently stands, PlayStation players have been granted early access to the upcoming Double XP weekend, reportedly as part of an ongoing partnership between EA and Sony that gives PlayStation users certain in-game benefits.
While I can understand and accept small cosmetic exclusives like PlayStation-only skins or charms, granting an entire extra day (or more) of Double XP access is completely unfair — especially in a cross-play game like Battlefield 6.
In a game where players from all platforms share the same servers and progression environment, no single platform should have a gameplay advantage such as faster XP progression. XP gain directly affects unlocks, weapon attachments, and overall player progression, so allowing one platform to earn these faster undermines fair competition across the shared player base.
If Battlefield 6 were not cross-play, it would still be disappointing but at least understandable, since the communities would be separate. However, because PC, Xbox, and PlayStation players are all part of the same ecosystem, this selective XP boost feels like a breach of fairness and balance.
This move also sets a troubling precedent for the future of the game — implying that gameplay advantages might continue to be tied to exclusive platform deals rather than skill or time investment. As a PC player, I feel overlooked and undervalued when one platform receives tangible progression benefits that others do not.
I strongly urge DICE and EA to reconsider this decision:
Either grant Double XP access equally to all platforms, or
Delay/disable the PlayStation-only Double XP period until all players can participate together.
Fairness and parity across platforms are essential for maintaining trust and long-term engagement in a cross-play title. Please don’t allow platform exclusivity to damage what could otherwise be a truly unified Battlefield experience.
