The reason your ALT key trick works is the smoking gun: this is a confirmed bug with the EA Javelin Anti-Cheat system introduced in a late 2025 update. Essentially, the anti-cheat is aggressively scanning "normal" key presses ($WM\_KEYDOWN$), which causes a massive CPU spike on a single core, starving the mouse input thread. When you hold ALT, the system switches to "System Key" messages ($WM\_SYSKEYDOWN$), which bypasses the specific anti-cheat check causing the hitch.
