BF6 unplayable in matches – Threadripper 3970X / RTX 3060 Ti

I’m honestly stumped. The game runs perfectly in the menus and lobby — smooth, no lag, GPU usage looks normal — but the second I load into an actual match, everything falls apart. FPS drops, stuttering everywhere, GPU sits around 40%, and it just feels awful to play.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Changed CPU priority class (High, Realtime, Normal) — no change
  • Limited CPU cores/threads via affinity (disabled certain pins) — no improvement
  • Checked GPU/CPU usage — neither one maxes out
  • Disabled VSync and any FPS cap — still stuck around 60 FPS
  • Toggled Screen Space AO and Global Illumination (GTAO / SSGI) between Low and High
  • Swapped between every graphics preset (Low → Ultra) — barely affects performance
  • Updated NVIDIA drivers + Windows 11
  • Checked temps and background apps — all normal
  • Task Manager minimizes the game when opened, so hard to track live usage
  • Found others with similar setups having the same issue

My specs:

  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X (32-core)
  • RTX 3060 Ti
  • 64 GB RAM
  • Windows 11
  • Latest NVIDIA drivers

What is your "UPSCALING TECHNIQUE" under advanced settings set to?

  • I have absolutely the same problem. I’ve got a RTX3060. In the Main menu I got. 6GB from 12GB storage used. Then I start a game und my after a while my fps drops und my storage is full with 12GB… unplayable and i have no solution..
