PC Fix for "Timed out. Kicked due to inactivity."

Sup yall,

like most of you im sure you've received the "Timed out. Kicked due to inactivity." prompt upon entering a game or a few seconds into the game. Here's the fix I found....

Essentially, EA's anti cheat scans for background process and overlays to see if you have some kind of cheating software open. If the system thinks you have an overlay open, it will just kick you from the match and not let you play at all.

THE SOLUTION

Navigate to the up arrow on the bottom right hand side of the task bar and see what tasks are running. End all non essential tasks and then load up battlefield 6. After much troubleshooting, this is the only solution I have found. After you have completed that, navigate to windows settings and "start up apps", disable any startup apps that are non essential. They will only run in the background, take processing power, and kick you out of battlefield. Let me know if this solution works for you guys.

This is not a network connection issue. Wifi vs Ethernet will not change anything.

  • Nope didn’t work.  Still get the error even with a complete windows reset and install from scratch with nothing else running.  EA needs to fix this issue.

The real fix- my cable modem was dropping packets.  Got a new one and problem went away! 😀
