Random FPS Stutter (Stuck at 30-40FPS) With PC Restart

My Current Setup
CPU : i7-8700K
GPU : RTX 2080ti
RAM : Delta RGB T-Force 3200Mhz - 16GB X 2 (32GB)
Motherboard : Maximus X Hero

Hi all, I bought Battlefield 6 from Steam, during the Battlefield 6 Beta & Official Launch my gameplay has no issue, it has been stable at 70+/-fps, but sometimes when i start my pc and get into games it will stuck & stutter at 30-40 fps for no reason. I will need to restart my PC to get 70fps again but sometimes it doesn't work and still stuck at 30-40 fps. I will have to keep restarting over and over again to get to stable 70fps gameplay.

But recently I have no luck for days since Saturday 1.11.2025, it has been stuck at 30-40fps no matter how many times i restarted my PC.

I did a lot of googling, tweaking my PC system, here's what i did so far..
1) Delete shader cache (Nvdia)
2) Delete shader cache (Battlefield 6)
3) Create user.cfg file (Some said user.cfg doesn't work and need User.cfg instead)
4) Create User.cfg file
5) Enable XMP Profile
6) Overclocking my CPU / Revert back to Original Setting In Bios
7) Reinstalling Nvdia Driver (Nvidia App)
8) Reinstalling Nvidia Driver (DDU)
9) Optimizing Windows For Gaming (Include Service.msc / Regedit)

10) Disable / Enable Hardware Scheduling, Variable Refresh Rate, Optimization for Windows Games
11) Update latest chipset (Official website)
12) Update latest bios (Official website)
13) Optimizing Nvidia Control Panel in Manage 3D Setting
14) Setting Battlefield.exe to High Performance in Windows
15) Clearing %temp% in PC
16) Overclocking my GPU using Nvidia App (+200mhz) I think
17) Reseat my Ram x2 and GPU
18) Using Copilot / Chatgpt / Google Gemini using HWinfo and Mentioned no problem with CPU/GPU
19) Steam verify integrity game files to validate and reacquired
20) Reinstalling new Chipset (Official website)
21) Enable / Disable Steam Overlay, EA Overlay, Nvidia Overlay
22) Enable / Disable Fullscreen Optimization in bf6.exe
23) Install new DirectX
24) Set bf.exe Compatibility Mode Windows 8 / Run as Admin / Disable Fullscreen Optimization
25) Checked if Manage 3D Setting Auto set a Profile For BF6.exe
26) Run sfc scannow / Image Repair
27) Ran registry repair with 3rd party download
28) Edit PROFSAVE Profile With Notepad
29) Set Nvidia Shader Cache to 100gb
30) Upgrading 16GB (3466mhz) Ram - 32 GB Ram (3200mhz)
31) Uninstalled Redsec DLC & Try Playing / Reinstalled Redsec DLC
32) Reformat PC (Reset PC - Remove Everything)

Totally no changes on the FPS.. still suckkkk!!!

I've played
Battlefield 4 (No Problem)
Battlefield Hardline (No Problem)
Battlefield 1 (No Problem)
Battlefield V (No Problem)
Battlefield 2042 (No Problem)
Battlefield 6 (Problem)

I don't encounter any problems when running other games too (200+ games in steam), So far it is only Battlefield 6. I'm really frustrated and I don't know what to do anymore, I'm trying to get the game to run normally like before for 3 days straight. If someone has a fix or know what to do, Please do give me some pointers. I'm not sure if it's my PC Issue or Battlefield 6's Issue.

Hi all, I think i found the culprit.. I changed the cpu thermal paste some time ago and i prolly dint apply enough.. I re-applied my cpu thermal paste and the FPS went back up to stable 90+ FPS..

Thanks for all the help and discussion along the way.. I'm going to mark it as solved..

I have the same issue on a much stronger system. I don't think it's just you.

EA needs to address it. I've tried everything.
lowering settings, toggling FSR on, off, toggling Anti Lag, you name it.

Hey SaltyDragon37, exactly same issue bro? You gotta restart to make it work? and it still doesn't work sometimes (depends on luck)?

Hi i have the same issue, Sometimes it works, sometimes CPU fps are significantly lower(half in avg)
I have 7700x and 4070 super. Throughout the game GPU fps is stable and gives the FPS as this card should. But CPU fps is 60-80. After restarting pc sometimes it is still the same, sometimes it gives me full 140-10 cpu FPS

gafarhere Thats why i been trying to be figure out is it just me or everyone else.. I see alot of similar post in Steam forum and EA forum too.. Im not sure if EA even noticed that..

Same here! i restart like you many to get better fps. friday and saturday somehow get decent fps but after saturday night it's gone :(

RE1KON now my good FPS is gone and doesn't come back anymore.. for 4 days straight.. I cant even play now since last Friday (31/10/25).. sigh..

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing. I've tried all the existing solutions, but none of them brought back that nice, smooth gameplay. It's been the same for me since Saturday. :(

What is RTSS (you get it installed MSI Afterburner) telling you about your loads when the game is running?
You should set it/afterburner to show the following in the overlay:
Average FPS
CPU Clock
CPU Temp
CPU Usage
RAM Used in MB
Memory Used Percentage
Show every CPU thread's percentage load
GPU Temp
GPU Usage Percentage
GPU Clock
Disable any other overlay options (example, the GPU settings for power %, power, power limit, voltage limit, load limit) as GPU monitoring has been said to cause performance issues.

There's a portal experience called "Mark De Bench". Load it, then spawn and stand on the tyres to the right of the spawn. Don't run through the map, just stay on the tyres.
After a few minutes take some pictures of the overlay (using steam screenshots or even just on your phone) so you can post to show us what your CPU & GPU and Memory load is in-game along with the FPS.
You may also want to consider formatting the PC and installing a fresh OS, while also resetting your BIOS clean and setting them both up from factory settings. I would also consider buying a 2 x 16gb stick of fast ram like Corsair CMK32GX4M2E3200C16, Silicon Power SP032GXLZU320BDAJ7 or SP032GXLZU320BDA, G Skill F4-4000C18D-32GTZR or F4-3200C16D-32GTZ.
Keep all your CPU cores enabled, leave HAGS and DX 12 disabled and don't use a framecap.
If it's still failing after that you likely have a hardware fault.

MackTKau hey bud currently using Corsair Vengeance RGB 8GBx 2 (3466mhz) XMP enabled, i took a few screenshots.. not sure if it's enough.. i can take more if u need.. and it was really fine with the gameplay before, smooth FPS like i mentioned.. I played it for 138 hours.

I think a week after the season 1 patch, exact date would be Last Friday / Saturday @ 31/10/25.. it became like this..

I did ALOT of the tweaks and fixes from reddit, youtube, google but sadly no luck.. And i've been thinking deep, ocean level deep, if my system couldn't handle it, how could i run smooth in the first place for 100+ hours and too bad i dint have any screenshots from before..

Something went wrong somewhere but i'm not sure where to look.. anyway.. thanks for helping out bro.
