The application was unable to start correctly (0xC0000604)
Battlefield 6 will not launch through the EA app.
Event Viewer shows these EA Javelin Anticheat errors:
Failed retrieving service path
The game bf6.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0xC0000604
What I have already tried:
Removed the live Steam install from the normal game directories
re-downloaded and reinstalled Battlefield 6 through the EA app
ran the EA app as Administrator
cleared the EA app cache
repaired the game multiple times
reinstalled EA Javelin Anticheat
reinstalled the EA app
disabled conflicting background utilities
rebuilt the install by moving the folder, starting the install, pausing it, copying the files back, and resuming
reinstalled Windows 3 separate times
The issue is still happening.
At this point this does not look like a normal local install problem. It looks like an EA app or Javelin startup-path failure tied to this game, because the error remains the same even after multiple clean reinstalls and full OS reinstalls.
Has anyone found a real fix for this exact Javelin “Failed retrieving service path” plus 0xC0000604 launch failure?
