It's no surprise to anyone that several videos from Battlefield Labs have been leaked. There are plenty of positives—destruction, atmosphere, and gameplay all seem much improved.However, in this thread, I want to highlight some negative aspects that have not only bothered me but also many other long-time Battlefield players.Blue and red LEDs to mark flags?This makes no sense, especially since the new Battlefield is supposed to be more minimalist and a departure from what Battlefield 2042 was. We already have the flags marked on the minimap—there’s no need for such an intrusive visual marker.The more minimalist the game is, the more immersive it will be. Please avoid adding unnecessary visual clutter. Just like in Battlefield 2042, where dropping an ammo box would make a glowing LED appear to indicate the required distance to interact with it—that is absolutely ridiculous!Get rid of that kind of thing!Some mechanics seen in the leaks seem promising, but others feel, at best, questionable.One of the leaks suggests the addition of tactical sprint—this absolutely needs to be removed. Any mechanic resembling Call of Duty’s dolphin dive should also be scrapped. Blue and red LEDs to mark flags?In the era of RGB + Tape LED strips some flashy graphical signs and cues become viable. This feature should be OFF by default in Game Options. Open customization is the key to success. If someone would like a more vivid experience, DEVs could think of saturation levels for the game and some filters. BF3 graphical preset, BF4 preset, current visual preset for new BF, clean visual preset, max blur-LED-BS happy time preset. Everyone would be satisfied... but do not clutter the graphics by default. Some mechanics seen in the leaks seem promising, but others feel, at best, questionable.Unlimited Tactical Sprint should not make it to the BF series. I am only for a Tactical Sprint that is entangled with a Stamina Bar and lasts 5 seconds with some ready-to-shoot stance penalty.Dolphin Diving has been possible in Battlefield 2. In pre-Alpha version Quick Prone or Dive, the player goes down/drops to the ground, instead of flying like a squirrel over the obstructions. If a penalty is applied to primary weapon use, I am fine. Such features should give some advantage (to Infantry) when it comes to Infantry vs Vehicular play... but never strictly Infantry vs Infantry in CQB situations. What is present in CoD BO6 should stay in CoD. Destruction is far from being fantastic for the pre-Alpha version. One RPG destroys the entire facade of (every single time) the building.It is still pre-Alpha.

I am hopeful that the visible boundary around the capture flags is a placeholder. It has never been a thing in prior releases and not even something I ever saw anybody mentioning as wanting in the 16 years I have played BF games. I would also add they should remove the green outline around squadmates. We already have their name and class hovering above them anyway. If EA feels they need these visual cues and assistance in their for accessibility reasons then please give us the option to disable them.

I don’t know why they create things that absolutely no fan of the franchise ever asked for. I agree with you that there should be an ON/OFF button for things like that. For me, the cleaner the visuals, even the HUD, the better and more immersive it is.

I agree with you on a lot of points, but my concern is that when the first leaks of Battlefield 2042’s pre-alpha came out, a bunch of weird mechanics and issues made it into the final game. That’s why I think we need to speak up, so they understand what needs to go and what actually appeals to the Battlefield community—fans who’ve been waiting for a real Battlefield for a long time.

I agree regarding the red/blue "laser" lines on the ground that mark the capture area... they are not necessary as the capture area can be seen on the minimap, and feel really out of place, hurting the immersion of the game in my opinion. I hope these will be removed.

We should speak up, but not to negate everything what DEVs do/TEST upfront. Current HUD worries me when it comes to visual clutter. Why do we have a gigantic points and flag status at the top centre of the HUD in pre-Alpha? In BF2/3/4 flag status and tickets left have been entangled with the minimap to avoid clutter.
I mean look, top right corner. Minimalistic time to go, tickets, flag possession in BF2. Another thing is flashing med bags and other items in pre-Alpha. So many things are distracting a player during gameplay it is unbelievable at this point. Older games do better in many aspects.
I would love my old Spotting wheel back again. 3D enemy spotting doritos should rather function only in Squad play rather Team play. More squad play, more advantage.
