If cross-play is to remain in the next BF game, there should be optional M&K support for console players that want it. What I don't want to see in the next BF game is console players given special treatment in order to be competitive against PC players. I posted the response below in another thread not long ago. I slightly edited it to shorten it.
Having to aid console players with various crutches (aim-assist, less recoil, and whatever else you get) in order for you to be competitive against PC players, is not the answer. To me, those console-crutches are nothing more than Dice-legalized cheats. And guess what, that's unfair to PC players. If they have to provide various crutches for console players to be competitive against PC players, then that alone proves cross-play should be done away with. But hey, if they can make the game so that we're all on the same level playing field, such as offering M&K support to console players, and nothing more, then maybe cross-play could work. Until then, I prefer Battlefield to go back to its roots and only match PC against PC. And let console players be matched only against themselves.
I want us all on the same level playing field, regardless of the type of hardware you play on. And I would think most on here would agree with that. No player base should be given any special treatment. None!
