College Football 27: Suggestions to the developers

1. Dynamic Crowd Logic & Attendance

In older titles, the stadium was a living entity. We need to see Contextual Attendance return. If a team is being blown out at home, the stands should visibly thin out by the fourth quarter. It adds a layer of realism and a "sting" to losing that static crowds simply can't replicate.

2. The Return of the "Momentum Meter" & Decibel (dB) Readings

The NCAA 07-style Momentum Meter provided a visual representation of the game's "swing." Pairing this with a live dB reading for crowd noise creates a tangible home-field advantage. It forces the away team to feel the pressure and gives the home team a reason to keep the fans screaming.

3. Studio-Driven Presentation (Pre-Game & Picks)

The broadcast needs to feel like a Saturday morning kickoff.

  • The Desk: A pre-game show featuring a broadcast crew (similar to the old ESPN segments) to break down the matchup.
  • The Picks: Bring back the "More Info" screen where analysts give their predictions. Seeing an analyst's icon next to their chosen winner—reminiscent of the Kirk Herbstreit picks in NCAA 14—adds weight to every game on the schedule.

4. Immersive "Media" in Dynasty Mode

Dynasty mode feels most alive when the world reacts to your success. Moving away from sterile menus in favor of Magazine-style articles and digital headlines would go a long way. Reading a "Sporting News" style cover story about your star QB’s Heisman race makes the season feel like a journey, not just a list of games.

Final Thoughts:

These features aren't just nostalgia; they are the building blocks of immersion. Bringing back the "little things" like dynamic crowds and studio picks would bridge the gap between a "football sim" and a "College Football experience."

    KnocksvilleTN Hey, there!

First of all, shout out to Kirk Herbstreit and NCAA 14. Those were some good times right there.

Thanks for putting this together. I liked how you got into the crowd logic and attendance side of things, especially the idea of the stadium feeling more alive as the game unfolds. The Momentum Meter and live dB readings stood out as well because details like that can make home field feel a lot bigger and make those moments hit harder. It’s got to have those feels.

I also liked the stuff you brought up with the pregame desk, analyst picks, and the Dynasty side with stories and headlines. That kind of presentation can make the whole season feel bigger instead of it just being menu to game to menu again. Appreciate you sharing all of this. We can pass the feedback along.

And this 👉 "These features aren't just nostalgia; they are the building blocks of immersion. Bringing back the "little things" like dynamic crowds and studio picks would bridge the gap between a "football sim" and a "College Football experience."

    Truth!

  • I remember on the old games the visiting fans would empty out if you were blowing their team out.
I want to see practices more immersive. Give me practice jerseys. Practice in your stadium. Empty and quiet stadium.
Crowd Themes need to be controlled by the user. Or taken out altogether if that cant be done.
A deeper Coaching Carousel. I should be able to put my interest into any openings. And I should be able to go after any coordinators I choose. Let them also follow you to another school if you want them.

  • My thoughts exactly, I love this game, but the  lackluster immersion and depth becomes apparent after a few seasons.
They also need to do something about the difficulty, after 4 seasons I’m pretty much an unstoppable juggernaut with little to play for, besides running up natty wins.

we need more randomness in our dynasties, true five star busts, out of shape profiles, injury prone players etc.

recruiting should be way harder, give us sliders so we can make that 1 star rebuild a true satisfying grind, without the help from super talented 3 star ath players and 4 stars that the cpu controlled teams for some obscure reason had no interest in.
