TEAMBUILDER UPDATES NEEDED
The current version of teambuilder is an incredible tool that I personally really enjoy using. But with a few relatively simple updates, the user experience would be even greater! Here are some thoughts and updates I would love to see...
Number/Font Styles To me, this is what needs the most attention in Teambuilder and would be a very easy update. Most everything else we can be creative using layers, but images/layers can't help us with numbers...
-Make all number/font styles available across all brands assuming they are not brand specific. For example; within an Adidas template we can choose "Western" or "Stroked Western" (Houston Texans style - which is outfitted by Nike), but this is not available on a Nike template.
-Add more styles. Using a Nike template as an example: (We currently have many "Boulder" and "Michigan State" options that are essentially duplicates). Styles that should be added: Clarendon (think old school UCLA), rounded numbers (think Nike era Miami), western style (similar to Wyoming), gothic (similar to Northwestern's gothic uniform), rounded block (i.e., Rutgers), etc. We can customize just about everything else with layers, but we are SO limited with numbers - simply add more!
Bonus (but not likely LOL) if we could get gradient numbers and/or add a pattern to the numbers.
-Choose sleeve/shoulder number colors. Currently these match the numbers on the front/back of the jersey. Many schools do this - Virginia Tech for example. Another very simple updates.
Stadiums
It was great to see a few generic stadiums added this year - THANK YOU! It would be great to see even just a few more. Maybe a few indoor stadiums? A smaller dome (something similar to the Kibbie Dome, with a capacity of 15k-25k). Lucas Oil Stadium is already in the game for the B1G Championship, can this be an available option? I know this is something that likely wouldn't be looked at until the next release, but wanted to put it out there.
Stripe Options
Although we can create and upload our own images to use, it would be so much easier if there were some additional pre-loaded stripe options for helmets, jerseys and pants. At least the common options!
-Helmet: Ram horns, wings (Michigan), tapered (previous Broncos helmet), double tapered (Ravens), etc.
-Jersey: More shoulder stripe options (USC, WV, etc.). Side stripes (previous Broncos jersey, early 2000s Miami, OH, etc.). Teambuilder on NCAA '14 had so many more options than the current platform - just bring some of those back!
-Pants: Again, just add some of what used to be available and some of what we see across HS and college. Double/triple stripe with angle on top (i.e., Cornell), this style is very common in lower college football levels and HS.
Minor details/other thoughts:
-Optional captain's patch (block C or NFL style patch)
-Something that I would love to see in future versions of teambuilder is the ability to simply add a helmet, jersey or pants without making an entire uniform combo. This way we can have more than five helmets but they won't necessarily be tied to a uniform combo, and we can just select that as an alternate helmet pre-game. Just like many, many teams in real life.
