Can't dodge or use arrows on PC using mouse and keyboard.

I am unable to dodge using spacebar or fire arrows using left mouse button. These buttons work in all other contexts in the game.

Same issue, dodge or right-click abilities not working. Playing through EA app, so can't try the Steam fix.

Steam fix is not working if you have a Razer peripheral plugged in (i tried that..)

Yeah same issue with Razer Tartarus. Unplugging it makes dodge work just fine, plugged in my dodge just won't work, no matter where I bind it. I actually have dodge bound to my corsair mouse, but it's still not working because I have Razer Tartarus plugged in for other actions in the game. And for those talking about "just unplug it and play without it".. yeah I mean I could play GTA5 without driving cars, but why tf would I?

It's double tap space to dodge and either tap right mouse button for quickfire or hold to aim then release to fire (default settings).

  • So the game is having issues detecting hardware? I've actually never seen this bug appear in quite some time.

No, it's just dumb. It doesn't differentitate between "controller A" and "controller B." (Because on consoles there is no need, and this one is a lazy port.)

It just treats any HID-compatible controller as valid, and uses that. My VKB Flight Sticks are treated as valid controllers.

And then the game goes to additional lengths and doesn't have the option to disable controllers — neither individual, or as a category. Last time I saw something like this was back in the 2010s with indie games. Even Ghost Recon: Breakpoint (that has the same issue with controllers) has a way to just disable them.

This is unacceptable for a triple-A game in 2024.

Same issue here. I was able to fix it by enabling Steam Input in Steam, then restarting the game.

    Razer Tartarus Pro, Synapse v3.9

Note: this is a workaround for a bug in the game, not a final resolution to the problem.   I do want the game to get fixed to work without these workarounds.

  • Okay so I guess the next question is why they would console port to pc. Shouldn't it have been the other way around? That way the pc version can tell the difference between the hundreds of keyboards there are? Then thr console port could detect controllers and keyboards?

I'm having an issue with the work arounds.

I was experiencing the Dodge + Ranged Attack buttons not working issue--and when I followed the suggestions my Dodge + Ranged Attack worked!--but then my mouse began behaving oddly; it's as if something is pulling my mouse directly up & erratically when I try to move it, it's unplayable.

Either my Dodge/Ranged Attack doesn't work, but my mouse works fine. Or the inverse. Very frustrating.

Setting deadzone to max did nothing for me, made the game unplayable and my mouse no longer works when set to 0.90

It was trigger deadzone you set right nothing else? Are you using another peripheral? My problem was with my Razer Tartarus 2. The game registers it as PlayStation controller with the L2 button held down continuously.

Yes just the trigger deadzone to max.

Yes it's for sure my Razer Tartarus v2 pro. Setting the trigger deadzone does get the spacebar working, but makes my mouse input go haywire.

I'm able to play by physically unplugging the tartartus (and using a logitech keyboard and razer mouse). Closing Synapse did nothing. Unplugging and re-Plugging the tartarus back in during game just causes the issue again.

Disabling any HID-compliant game controllers also did not work, though its possible I didn't find exactly the right driver. But I had no game controllers showing up in the windows game controllers screen.  Dragon age controls were still off, couldn't control the mouse.

It's like I'm having 2 hardware issues at once.

Thanks...the dodge is so necessary at least for me 😂
