Formless One Bug

I'm having an issue during the second stage of the fight with the undead dragon. When the dragon goes up to his perch, he never comes down, which prevents the quest from being finished and forces me to reload a save.

    I found the issue. As it turns out, having any third party program affecting the game will cause the fight with the Undead Dragon and Fangscorcher to bug in this way. This includes something like Reshade, which I was using. Once I uninstalled Reshade, the fight progressed as normal with no issue. Most likely this will include any sort of cheat script like WeMod or Cheat Engine as well, but I'm not sure.

    Guys, this is happening because you are doing way too much damage too quickly. What you need to do is (disable the cheats) '' slowly '' but surely whittle down his HP. I'm also pretty sure you need to hit his legs when they light in this purple glow. Eventually, he flies up, and does a round of his electric breaths like at the beginning when the fight starts, and then comes back down. Afterwards, you start hitting him, and he eventually lays down when you've hit enough and is at a weakened state and starts taking a lot more damage from you. Then after this he goes to his perch and the fight continues normally as it should, instead of staying there with his HP bar not moving after you've reached the '' limit. '' 

    So there seems to be some checkmarks/events you need to hit in the fight before the perch section, otherwise the game gets confused and you get stuck in that section.

      This is definitely not the issue in my case. I fought the dragon the first time when it was much higher level than me so I was barely doing any damage and it was an absolute slog to get its health down to the point where it went up to the perch. Clearly, this is just a bug of some sort with this encounter.

        Yeah I was definitely wrong. The issue is that you have to stagger the dragon once. So bring all your equipment and skills that focus on staggering (instead of damaging) for yourself and your companions, and focus on staggering the dragon at least once before it takes flight. The purple-ish bar on top of the enemy health bar filling as you hit the enemy showcases how close you are to the enemy being staggered. Once it's staggered, you get a chance to deal good damage.

        I don't know why it's programmed like this but it is. Also, sometimes the dragons' legs OR head light up in purple, which means those places are weak and you deal more damage (and probably fills the stagger bar faster, not sure).

    Having the same issue, no matter how many times reload. Just decided to start a new game. Which sucks, cause was 30 hours in.

    The problem is third party program, if u still wanna use it,
    Use it when u fight and stop it when he fly to the place its get stuck,
    when u will do so its will let u continue the fight (u do it twice between stages

    I did enjoy the fight without any third party but it is indeed hard fight.
