Solved

All EA games crash on launch! Can't play any games.

Any game I launch on the EA app will not launch, either through the launcher or the .exe directly. This issue began when I replaced my computer's motherboard for a different model, last month. When launching most games, I immediately get a crash report, which says:

Dumping started...
Dumping finished. File:
C:\ProgramData\eaanticheat\Crashdumps\PACKER_... .dmp
Finished.

Here is what I've tried so far to fix the problem:

  • Troubleshooting steps for uninstalling/reinstalling/repairing/updating EA Javelin Anticheat outlined on https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/ea-anticheat/
  • Disabled all non-Microsoft services in msconfig and all startup apps in Task Manager (had to keep EA Background Service enabled to use EA App)
  • Cleared temp files from %Temp%, system scans using "sfc /scannow" and DISM
  • Fully uninstalled the EA App and individual games using Revo Uninstaller (as was suggested by a support agent), restarted computer, and reinstalled the EA App and individual games
  • Checked that my GPU drivers, chipset drivers, and BIOS are all up-to-date

Here are my computer's specs:
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X
RAM: 64 GB DDR5 6600MHz

I don't experience this problem with any of my other game launchers, and because of this I'm currently unable to play any of my purchased games belonging to the EA launcher. Have talked to support a few times now but unfortunately still no solution to this issue.

Note: I've tried launching Need for Speed: Unbound, which I don't believe uses EA Anti-Cheat. I don't get a crash report when starting that game, but the game window never opens and the process immediately closes.

  • Update on this, I went ahead and did a fully clean reinstall of Windows and no longer have this issue. At the moment, I'm not sure of any other solution, but at least it worked.

I have the same issue. It started today, or should I say from today the EA app totally shuts down the PC. R5-7HS/4050/16...

As this problem is still ongoing and I haven't been able to play any EA games for the past 2 months, I'm going to try reinstalling Windows to see if that fixes the problem. Based on others' forum posts however it's possible it might not actually fix anything. But EA support has been radio silent on me with this issue so at this point I'm out of options, other than just not playing any EA games anymore.

4 months later, I still cannot play any of my EA games, and support has not fixed the problem. Darn, I was really looking forward to Battlefield 6.

    Me too.

I guess you can screw up a launch of a Battlefield.

Easier than that, you just exclude a big player base by a unecessary, **bleep**ed up "EA App" no one asked for.

Of cours it could be us and our systems. Even though I just build it a month ago, fresh with all the drivers and updates and Steam, GoG, Epic and even the **bleep**iest of them all, the MS Store works flawless.

What could it be? Fix yout **bleep** EA!! Your client should have prio No.1 ! I read **bleep** like this since lunch 2024 let that sink in, and then blame the studios or the players for bad business.

  • I upgraded my processor and gpu today for BF6 launch...but now can't play any off the previous EA titles.... frustrating.

Though BF6 won't be requiring EA App if purchased via steam...that's what gave me a breather as I pre purchased it via steam only.

Any other game outside EA umbrella I am able to play without any hiccups.

I have no hopes from EA to solve this problem.

Just so you know, launching via Steam still requires EA Anticheat, which appears to be the root of this problem, so I was still unable to launch through there...

  • Just installed it a month ago since I just bought the system components and it didnt work from the beginning.

I created a new account on existing Windows11Pro and that worked.
