Just FYI, the EA App no longer supports win 7. The current March 2026 App update requires win 10+. It will download but will not apply because win 7 OS doesn't have the Win 10+ OS that allows the application of the update. Win 7 users are effectively locked out of the App when the games they own don't require Win 10 to play (mass effect series, dragon age series, sims).

so we windows 7 users are left out now ? that’s extremely unfair, i’m literally forced to buy a new pc to play sims just bc sims doesn’t start without the ea launcher that just works with windows 10/11, thanks EA

I figured that might've been the case. Thank you for that information. That's just a shame and I'm still disappointed, even if I knew it was inevitable that I'd be updated out of my games eventually.

Hello, everyone. The EA App now requires a 64 bit PC running Windows 10 or 11. MacOS running Catalina or newer is also supported.

I have command and conquer games saved to my external hard drive. Before I would click and play; now I need the app and login which is pain. Now EA app wont launch and I tried to re install I have this code. I have window 7 and it worked well.
Can we by pass the EA app to play if games saved on HD as i did years ago?
What does this code mean and how to resolve?
Thanks

As of the recent update, win 7 is no longer supported. EA APP is forcing win 7 users to update to win 10 just to play games that don't require win 10 to launch. Thank EA for this.

Three days ago, I tried to run the Sims 3 but EA app was giving an error, It said that it was downloading something but it suddenly disappeared. So I tried to reinstall the app but it didn't work. It gave me an error during the installation:
My System is Windows 7. What can I do to solve this please?
Thank you

They say Win 7 is not supporting anymore. As a Windows 7 user, I can use Steam and Epic Games, and I play the games I paid for. But I can't use EA App. Because EA App decides which operating systems we can and cannot use!!! EA, so-called a huge company, can't even bother to implement the backward compatibility

I have a Win7 desktop computer that I've been playing all my Sims games on because I can't afford to go buy a new computer. Today I tried to log in and play like I always have and the EA desktop app wants to update, so I let it, only to find out that my Win7 is no longer being supported in the login app.
I think it's a pretty poor business model to assume that everyone has the money to burn and keep incessantly updating to each new version of Windows and then....after being with the Sims franchise since the onset and purchased every expansion and stuff pack....now I'm being told "oh, so sorry...you can't even access your games anymore....tough luck".....because when trying to install the 'update' it dumped me back to my desktop, indicating that Win7 is no longer supported.
I get that Win7 is dated, believe me, but to spend hundreds of dollars on all my EA games only to completely be denied the right to play them after buying this is nothing but ridiculous. If you don't want to continue support for Win7, that's fine, I can understand and respect that, but NO ONE should be denied the right to play what they've paid for and you should have left us with SOME recourse to play even if it was offline.
Pretty poor business model, EA

According to what they’re saying, support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 is over. They’ve got the audacity to decide which operating systems we’re allowed to use and which we aren’t! I can still use Steam on Windows 7 right now and play the games I’ve paid for. EA can’t even manage that!! what a disgrace!
