Can’t launch Sims after trying to install T.O.O.L mod

Help!

I just downloaded Sims again on a brand new Mac and it was running fine until I wanted to download T.O.OL mod. I saved my game and then exited the game. I placed the tool mod folder into the Sims4 mod folder. I realized I use the wrong folder so I took the folder out and put in the right T.O.O.L folder into the Mods folder.

At  the same time, I started downloading the Blooming rooms kit in the background.

Thats when my Sims app wouldn’t launch and I tried restarting the EA app but the app said that my game is still running even though it’s closed. There’s no option in the game library to repair the game or other options.

It just says to download Sims4 and that’s what scares me because I’ve been playing for a while so I’ve obviously downloaded the game already. I have the Sims file on my computer, so I’m confused on why the EA app is saying to download Sims4 and the  packs.

It won’t let me restart my Mac because EA says the game is still running in the background and I can’t restart the EA app because it says there’s a game running in the background.

I don’t know if this helps but on my MacBook Air it says 16 GB of memory and the amount to download for the Sims is 27.44 GB disk base required. So I checked my disk space and it says I have 145 GB left.

Like I said I’ve been playing for a while so it hasn’t been an issue so far just when I try to install and download T.O.O.L mod.

When I try to restart my Mac , the  EA app says I can’t restart because there’s a game running in the background even though there’s no game running in the background.

The EA app won’t let me restart.
