Cannot Play EA APP offline because app "Detects" False Manual Time Change

I am having issues with the new EA app. I prefer to play offline since I am not always in an area that has wifi. However, my EA app keeps telling me after it has been offline for a bit that it is detecting a manual time change on my computer and that I cannot play offline anymore. However, I have not touched the time on my computer, and it is set to automatic in my computer's setting. I am wondering if this problem is a bug in the new app, or if I have a setting wrong in the new app. I have already tried rebooting my computer, but I am still getting this message.

  • I too am getting this message everytime my PC resumes from sleep, it's bloody annoying and blocks the screen until I exited the app.

    Come on EA, you messed up BF 2042 and now even your app is messed up. Annoyed that I HAD to install this app as they withdrew support of the Origin app which never had this problem.

    I think no one cares because EA does not give a **** about the gamers, just cares about getting the dollars out of the gamers wallets.

    EA [Edit - Admin.] up Battlefield and then proceeded to shove this crap EA App onto it's customer base.

    Other issues apart from the Time issue is that the app also keeps quitting when my connection drops or I switch over to my VPN

  • EA please just fix offline mode for your costumers why are we being deceived about the offline mode on the EA App.

    I am am in offline mode playing FIFA 2022, only game I put in hours due to manage mode and custom tournaments single player mode.

    I have tried doing this on three device and I get an error saying the following:

    Something's amiss... We've detected a manual time change on your device. Reset
    your system clock so you can continue playing offline.

    As I said on three device, PC Desktop, Laptop and Steam Deck. Seriously you need to be transparent with us on what is offline mode.

    Why is an internet connection needed to play the game especially in single player mode and offline? Are you sitting in watching my matches offline.


    Profit and investors are one thing, another is transparency.

    what is the fix to this or just be honest that you still need to be connected online at all time??? because if so remove the offline mode from the EA app because this is a lie. Truly disappointing!

    PLEASE HELP US UNDERSTAND in an  authentic manner your definition of offline mode???

    This manual time change is so stupid, why can't it be fixed or even better still get it to recheck to see what the time is. How out of sync is this manual time change???? Could it be 1 second or several hours whe don't know as the app does not tell you.

    After lots of fuss I put in an entry to Task Scheduler to re-sync the time every 5 mins with windows NTP but the damn app still keeps complaining and taking up screen space until you are forced to exit the app. Then for myself I restart the EA app only to find that  it can't remember my login details even though the box is checked.

    In another thread I stated that I was going to uninstall and move to steam. Well I have created a steam account (and guess what, no moans about a manual time change) and now downloading my battlefield games, yes I had to repurchase but they cheap now (BF4 and BFV).

    I think EA have passed caring many years ago and just after people cash without providing much in the way of support apart from the obvious "turn it off and turn it back on" or "uninstall the app and reinstall it"

  • I just installed everything onto a new laptop.  I've already had to run a repair to fix my addons because they were broken right out of the gate on the first install.  The repair did sort them out, for what it's worth, but this EC202 error is pretty irritating and it's somewhat disheartening to see the issue extends so far back without a response from support.  Fortunately, it doesn't stop online connection, but it causes the app to dump my login info which is annoyingly inconvenient.

    PLEASE FIX THIS BUG! ...OR RESPOND TO THIS THREAD! ...OR BLINK TWICE IF YOU'RE BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY CORPORATE TERRORISTS WHO WON'T LET YOU RESPOND TO SUPPORT REQUESTS!

  • @yoshiqueshana Yes, I have been having this problem too! At first I could play offline, but now EVERY SINGLE time I want to play, I have to go online to play. EA App, there is nothing wrong with my clock! It is your app that has a problem. Please fix it! I should be able to play offline games that I own. This is unacceptable. At least with Origin, so long as I didn't restart my laptop, I wouldn't have to resign in. And with Origin, I could do "offline" sign ins. Why can't we do that on the EA App?
  • still having the same issue. aaannnd no help after what? two years? never seen a company push so hard to replace something that no one needed replaced purely for the mon- oh oh wait we've seen this a billion times before? from other money hungry corporations? yeep we're screwed 🤣
