Can't download new games or add them to the collection with EA Play Game pass

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 19.03.2021 until now
Summarize your bug Trying to either add a game to the collection or download it (using EA Play game pass) results in a small loading screen doing nothing which then cancels everything without any notification
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Download EA Desktop, try to download or add a game to your collection using the Game pass EA Play subscription (either from the Xbox or EA Desktop App, both does not work)
What happens when the bug occurs? Small loading screen (as in the screenshot provided) resulting in nothing. Can spam the download or add to collection button and nothing happens. Unable to use the EA Play subscription due to this.
What do you expect to see? The game either being added to my collection and/or starting to download

I have had this issue for multiple days and no troubleshooting helped/EA Support couldn't help me either. Also didn't see this issue aknowledged anywhere.

What I've tried:
>Re-Install EA Desktop App

>Run EA Desktop as Adminstrator

>Change User Account Control to the lowest tier

>Close EA Desktop + Background Service then try to install on Xbox App

>Adding the game to collection before trying to download

>Launch EA Desktop using the XBox App instead of the .exe

>Change the folder EA Desktop is located in

>Change the folder used to download games

Happens every time I try to download a game I don't have in my collection which is available in EA Play. I can download games I own and that are in my collection, however as you can see in the screenshots provided downloading games such as NFS Heat gives me a loading screen for less than a second then cancels everything. Shows as "Preparing 0% 0B" in the XBox App then dissapears.

    Same problem here, no download works. 

    File is always in "Preparing" state and no files are created or the game folder is not created at all.

    I love how these EA teams love to ignore us... they don't even say "we are aware of what you guys are dealing"... a LOT of people with the same problem... comon

    Same here. One thing to add is that for me it is always happening to the same games while others work just fine. For example the issue You mentioned always appears for me when I try to download Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville but I am able to download Garden Warfare 2 just fine.

    I have had this problem since game pass gave access to ea play and just today it stopped doing it for me and now just says "join ea play" im assuming that the original problem is something to do with ea desktop not acknowledging that you have ea play which is why its not downloading the games. 


    The way i was able to get it to change was to go onto a load of different games and click download on them and randomly it just changed to "join ea play"

    I have also tried uninstalling the EA Desktop, clearing caches and all the other things suggested on the site. I cannot even add anything to collections or download anything. It was fine last night but today nothing works and I have installed the games but had to uninstall due to the fact I changed EA accounts and now nothing works. I was looking forward to this Open Beta so I'm really annoyed I won't be able to play anything until this is solved.

    I have this with my sons gamepass linked account. 

    on his account click download and no install prompt etc.

    on the same PC my account installs no issue.

    @Kazut🤭samu What a disaster, we got no reply from EA and no support at all. I've been almost daily trying to download a game, but none works.

    Simply a disaster.
