Same problem Here, but the game is C&C Generals Zero Hour.
Previously with Origin App i had no problem to play, but since I switch to EA app, it's impossible to play with the game.
I've tried everything you have already done, and still not working.
It's frustrating and disappointing. What a shame.
Please try disabling EA App in-game overlay

It's now June 2023 and I'm having this exact same problem. Has EA issued any sort of fix? Or anyone find their own? I've tried uninstalling, running via Admin, etc...This is incredibly frustrating!
- @jharding83 frustrating also if Ea deletes your entire account without letting you know. I had an account with some games in it that i haven't used for some years. After a few years they decided to delete it since i haven't logged in for so long, but they did so without-any-warning. 0 success trying to get it back.
Now i'm back because i want to play red alert 2 and this happens. Blows my mind...
Did that - no change. Any other suggestions? Tried right click and run as administrator ant the other suggestions, no solution for me.
Worked perfectly in the Origin app.
