Still does not work for me. This was not an issue before being forced to install the EA app, so this is NOT an issue with my computer, it is NOT an issue with my install. this is 100% an issue with the EA app so EA needs to fix it. In the world of electronics, components are required by the FCC to not cause interference with other electronic devices. There should be a similar Protocall in place for software. Software should not cause interference with other software.

@holger1405I don't actually know what the rep did. I told him my problems and the solutions I'd tried. He had me reinstall Origin, which of course didn't work. I told him I couldn't open the app or uninstall it and he told me to delete the files manually, which I didn't think would work but tried anyway since it worked for Coryachi. He put me on hold for ten minutes and then came back and said he was pushing the problem up the chain.EDIT: A tool on the uninstall post worked! Thank you so much! And with a clean install, I was finally able to open DAI. Sweet, sweet game screen, I thought I'd never see you again 🙌

I also can't get DAI to launch - this has been a problem since last week. I tried reinstalling Origin, reinstalling the EA app, repairing the game, launching with mods, launching without mods, changing administrator privileges/compatibility - nothing works. It crashes every single time. So frustrating.

Here's my DxDiag. Remarkably, absolutely nothing about my computer changed between being able to play the game last week and not being able to play the game except being forced to install the EA App. 🤔

@holger1405 There's absolutely no way that my computer is below the minimum requirements because I've been running DAI on this computer for years with absolutely no problems before this app update. And, as I said, I have tried to run the game probably 100 times directly from the EA app without using FrostyMod. It will not open at all. I appreciate that you're trying to help, but I think the EA app is the problem, since it is the ONLY thing that changed between last week when the game ran perfectly and this week when it won't open.I will try FrostyFix.

Did you tried a app recovery?
In EA app > Click on the 3 lines in the top left corner > Help > App recovery > Clear cache.

Do you use any Mods and if yes what modding tool do you use?

There is no way to install or play the game without an EA client.

Been having this issue for over a week. What finally got it to work today was copying my DAI folder to the same directory as the EA App (App was in Program Files while the game was in Program Files x86). Hopefully it'll work for you!

@Coraychi I tried this and the EA app no longer recognized the game at all. It was still in my library, but it wanted me to redownload it because it thought it now belonged to another user.

When you moved it, did you move the "Origin Games" folder as well, and did you move to Program Files, or to Electronic Arts?
I moved only my DAI folder over to Program Files, and it didn't require me to redownload. Sorry for asking so many questions, I just wanna be sure we're on the same page in case there's some way we can get it working for you.
Also, I believe when I launched it, I launched it from the .exe in the Program Files > Dragon Age Inquisition file, as opposed to clicking play in the EA App. Maybe you could give that a try and see if it's any different?

EDIT: I also copied the DAI folder rather than moving it, so it's now in two locations. Maybe that's where the issue is arising. The installation location for DAI hasn't changed in my EA App, so maybe yours is still looking in the previous location for the files.
EDIT 2: Hah, well, it was working for a little bit anyway. I got to sit down and play about ten minutes before this stopped working for me as well ... if it ends up working for you, that'd be great, but if not then it looks like we're in the same boat again. ☹️

@Coraychi I moved only the DAI folder. I've tried launching from the .exe, from the EA app, and from FrostyMod. It does the same thing every time - opens the game window to a blank black screen which disappears after about 10 seconds. Sometimes I get as far as loading the fancy cursor before it blinks out again. Fortunately, it didn't seem to actually make me redownload it, because after I clicked download, it was ready immediately (I had also moved it back by then, and I did a repair the other day so that might have also had an effect). I guess I could try copying it instead.

EA app gets the location from registry entries, so moving the folder will just lead to EA app simply not finding the game any more as you experienced.

Coping the files will not change anything, EA app will still use the Original location, so this is pointless.
