EA App failing to launch Sims 4

While trying to launch The Sims 4, it crashes because the EA App doesn't work properly for whatever reason. And I can't uninstall it because somehow the file for uninstalling it doesn't exist.

I have this game on both Epic and Steam, and checking file integrity on Steam doesn't seem to fix anything. The EA App itself won't open because any shortcuts I do find don't work.

A factory reset is the last resort, so if anyone's got solutions, I would be open to them.

  • I am currently chatting with someone from EA about this. I have managed to delete the app from my Mac but it won’t open now. It bounces once and then does nothing. Has anyone managed to find a solution?

The solution is to download the installer and use it to repair the EA app. Many thanks for your help.

My issue isn't the exact same. For me, it always crashes & shows a few errors almost instantly after launching Sims 3.

  • I keep having the same issue! Random crashing after a few mins, window to send crash report and restart or exit - restart, just does same again. I can launch a game but it shuts down after a few mins when the app crashes in the background. I've tried almost everything to fix the problem; clear cache, repair EA App, repair Sims 4, uninstall/reinstall app, remove CC/Mods but it's the EA App crashing that's the problem. Have trawled forums, Youtube, social media - nothing is resolving the issue.
